Corrie fans wanted for 50th radio show

Key 103 Radio in Manchester is working on a documentary for Coronation Street's 50th anniversary and need fans to contribute regarding the following stories:

60’s – Anti- war protests - Ken fined and put in prison for attending a banned anti-Vietnam meeting at the town hall.
70’s – Illegitimacy – Betty’s secret son; Betty had an affair with a married sailor during the war and had his baby. She then gave the child to her sister to be brought up as hers. It then came out years later that Betty was in fact the Mum. Someone else on the street tried to blackmail her because they found out.
80’s – Rita and Alan Bradley – domestic violence and stalking.

They're looking to speak to a Corrie fan, who doesn’t mind being recorded, who either remembers the storyline and its impact.. was it shocking? or raised a real taboo in society at the time? or did it reflect a feeling at the time? Or a Corrie fan who has been affected by one of the above storylines, e.g. - someone who found out years later that the person they thought was their sister is in fact their mum.. or who was a victim of domestic violence and was inspired by Rita’s story, etc.

If you have a valid story to share, email alex.darby@bauermedia.co.uk
