As we speak there is but one episode left of what has been an unforgettable Golden Anniversary week on Coronation Street. We are all still wondering about whether or not Peter will survive his cardiac arrest and if anyone will discover Rita under a mountain of Toblerone.For Claire and her boys plus Janice Battersby, it's the end of the road. No doubt Claire will begin a new life in France with her mother but what's the motivation for Janice upping sticks?
There's going to be no Corner Shop or Kabin for the forseeable future. Where does that leave Dev, Norris and, if she lives, Rita? John Stape's web of deceit looks like spinning totally out of control should worrying harridan Charlotte survive (nice one for keeping her alive, scriptwriters!)
One possible stoyline that could emerge is the future of the Joinery site. Could there be a clash between the owner, Nick Tilsley and other residents who may wish for it to remain undeveloped? Maybe there could be some form of memorial garden in its place but will sentiment override commercial interests?
Whatever happens, we can all take comfort from having viewed a week of gripping, emotional drama. With the dust beginning to settle on the cobbles, we now have the intrigue of where 2011 will take the survivors and the bereaved.

The viaduct itself is part of the tram line so it will be rebuilt, not gardenized. It's possible that the underneath bit will just be a blank wall. Poor old George will have to hope the insurance claim comes through ok. He still owns it i think, Nick was leasing it from him.
I think it was Owen's shoddy workmanship that caused the explosion in the Joinery which caused all of this. Should have used Bill! Where was Bill or Pam yesterday, she should have been there for Molly's demise.
Bill, Pam, Betty, Emily, Gail, Deirdre - all missing!! You don't think one of them has unwittingly got squashed??
I wouldn't have expected Betty to come, but Bill and Pam surely would have heard it on the news if nobody had called them at least. and Gail? Where was Gail??? Deirdre was minding Simon so that's fair enough.
Gail I think was in the medical centre helping out the doctor
What got me was the doctor insisting Gail come to the medical centre yet the next episode she was still waiting at the crash site to see Nick, who came out of hte hole in the live ep with Gail nowhere to be seen!
Oh yeah! I'm watching it again now. With so much going on in the live episode I've missed things like that.
I want to know who the 'fourth death' will be.
