Apart from the Schmeichel storyline, I have rather enjoyed watching Corrie over the last few weeks. Several days ago while on a bus and sitting just behind two teenage boys (rough type by the way), One asked the other if he had watched Coronation Street and got on about Fiz getting 15 years for something she didn't do. I heard one of the boys say that he will think twice about getting into anymore trouble as he didn't want to go to prison for 15 years. I do realise Corrie is only fiction (SORRY to say!), but it seemed to have some effect on these lads and I hope other youngsters will think twice too. However, I was watching The Bill episodes on Youtube today as I were thinking about purchasing several DVDs of it, but I was totally put off by the shoddy scamera work where it is shaking all of the time. This also made me think of just how Coronation Street is filmed, and I wish they would just keep the camera still at most times instead of moving about all over the place ALTHOUGH, I must give extra points to the camera man who filmed Fiz in prison as the camera was kept more steady for a change. Must go now as I am getting long winded!

I wasn't feeling the love with Chesney and his dog at all...Kirk seemed more upset about the whole think. I think Kirk is a wasted character...can't wait till he gets back where he belongs...with Fiz!!

Oooh, I'd love to see Kirky have a major storyline, instead of always focusing on the the young hunks all the time! He's such a tenderhearted guy, and I bet a story for him would be both hilarious and very touching. Don't know if I want to see him with Fiz again. We need a new character for him as his gf. Someone with a great sense of humour! Are you reading this, writers?

This was the ideal opportunity to write the whining Fiz out and how daft is this Smeikel at death's door storyline, I have never seen such a healthy looking dog. Rubbish.

As much as I hate the Schmeichel dying storyline, I do like seeing more of Chesney and Kirk onscreen. I think Sam Brown plays him very well. I also agree with the previous comments of giving poor Kirk something to do-- he is such an underused character! Tommy constructing a UFO could at least be a bit of humour.

The writers have done it again. Out of nowhere, with hardly any build-up, Schmeichel gets ill and dies. Now I'm a dog owner so I know dogs can deteriorate very quickly, but this is too quick to be dramatic. The one good thing is it shows Kirk is not entirely simple. I agree he needs a girlfriend, someone even more naive than him, if that's possible, so they can be a sweet couple.

Listen to all the complaining whiners. If you dont like the show, dont bloody watch it. And there was build up to Schmichael being ill, would you of rather it built up for months? of course, then people would be moaning about Chesney getting more screentime, because no matter what the producers do, people are never happy with what happens. Producers cant win.

^^ Thank you, Mr Collinson. It's nice to know you read this blog.

I agree with the most recent Anonymous. Some plotlines are necessarily quick to start up. I would rather the Schmeichel storyline NOT drag on for weeks. A storyline like this doesn't need to have a lot of drama and buildup to it and we see Chesney dealing with the death of his dear dog and then the joy over the birth of his baby soon after.

do Chesney & Katy split up??

Oh Adam Rekitt....I had a good laugh at your comment!! I too did not feel the love that Chesney has for the dog, looks like Kirk is more traumatized.....agree also that Kirk needs a storyline. Is it Beth and her weird son (previous GF of Steve) that are coming back to Corrie..?...I can see Kirk with her and hilarious interaction with the son.
