Thus endeth the saga of Stape, the man whose life had more twists and turns than the Monaco F1 track. I'm sure the writers had a lot of fun writing this storyline over the past couple of years, topped off with the irony of John calling himself Mr. Chips. Why? Find out here.
Kudos to Graeme Hawley and Jennie McAlpine! As often as I was frustrated with Fiz being such a doormat at John's selfish manipulations, they kept me interested, kept me watching and that's testimony to two talented actors.

I knew straight away why Stape had chosen the alias of Mr. Chips. Without needing to look up your helpful reference. But thanks anyway.
I do think that the whole Stape plot line was tragedy of almost Shakespearean proportions. John Stape was at base a decent man who just wanted to pursue his vocation. Okay, he was an idiot to be led away from the path by his loins, and kidnapping Rosie was never the hallmark of the most forward-thinking individual, but still, I can't help feeling for the guy. Great acting, Graham.
In the finish, the only person he killed was bonkers Charlotte. And I really DO have some sympathy with that.
Poor mad Charlotte. It wasn't quite self defence, considering she was running away from him at the time but it nearly was. Who'd believe it though
Wound most of the "deathbed scene" on yesterday, what a load of old bilge and do we really have to see Fiz and her screwed up little face back on the Street? Just chuck away the key.
I don't know how anyone can describe Jennie McAlpine as "talented". She is shockingly bad.
