Coronation Street producer Phil Collinson was interviewed today on This Morning and said he's working with Corrie script writers to devise a fitting send-off for her Betty Driver's character, Betty Williams.
Phil Collinson spoke of his sadness at the loss of the 91 year old actress on This Morning and revealed his plans to pay tribute to the star.
He said: "I've only just got together this morning with some of the script department, and then we'll talk to the writers next week. But we'll do something brilliant and magnificent. We'll give her a brilliant send-off. She deserves it."
He fondly described Betty as “a wonderful, joyful, brilliant lady.”

This fan truly hopes that Betty's send-off will include the return of Bill Kenwright as her son Gordon. Bill was very close to Betty Driver in real life too and used to send her a mother's day card every year.

I'm looking forwards to Betty's 'send off' now that it's been revealed that it will indeed be a very special event that cast members as well as viewers will appreciate Betty being given.
