It also says that "fans have been waiting for these two to get back together". Have we? Have you? I haven't.
I think Tommy Duckworth is a complete waste of space and if the writers don't do something with Tina's character soon, she's going to end up the same way.
So should Tommy and Tina get together in Corrie? What do you think?

It's an obvious plot device. Hate each other turns into love each other. Tommy's boring. Tina's become boring. Matt's boring.
Yep Frosty agrees, the two most pointless yet best looking scroungers should get together and leave for Outer Mongolia or somewhere. He is just a gormless twerp a pointless appendage to Tyrone and she is just a pointless shrieking harpie who is just destined to jump from man to man. Tata.
I agree that these two characters seem to be just a waste of time so there must be something coming up soon, and it will involve the dishy Dr. C. He's hiding something...maybe a malpractice suit? Who knows, but they'd better get a move on...these are two very boring characters IMO.
Characters have to have some kind of purpose and Tommy was brought back only for them to do nothing with him and Tina was kept on after what should have been her short role as David's girlfriend, then I dont think the powers that be really know what to do with them and they meander along aimlessly becoming just backfill spare parts.
No! Because it's too obvious. From the moment I heard Tima was going to start seeing the doctor, it was screamingly obvious that it was all about Tommy being jealous and it feels like treading water until it's time for Tommy & Tina to get together. For God's sake, can't they do something unexpected and NOT have them get together? Or maybe do something REALLY unexpected, and start writing well for them? I wouldn't have any problem with Tommy as a feckless scrounger if he was written well - he has a comic potential - a young Stanley Ogden, good-natured but lazy &c. In fact I'd go so far as to say that there are no characters in the show who are irredemably redundant, if only the writers would write well for them. If they can do it for Sylvie, Roy, Rita & Norris, then why not for the likes of Tommy & Tina?
I agree, Cobblestone. Boring writing = boring characters. I doubt that there is anyone who cares a jot about these two getting together. It's lazy, boring, cliched writing. I am sure anyone on this blog could map out more interesting storylines for these two characters in less than 10 minutes.
I guess they are just waiting to find a plot line to use from another soap and obviously haven't found it yet.
It's apparent that they haven't had an original idea in decades.
Just HOW long has Matt the doctor been on Corrie and has he ever had a storyline? He's kind of like Christmas ornaments, only brought out once a year. Whar a farce putting him wih Tina. I say get rid of the doctor but keep Tommy who I think has potential if only he could get some good writing behind him.
Tina is in great need of a decent storyline. She's been stuck with dull stories for far too long now and her and Tommy have zero chemistry so I don't know why the writers are forcing them on us. There's more to Tina than her love life and I hope the writers realise this soon.

Ru lot mad!!! The Tommy and Tina love saga is a bit of light relief. I can't wait for them to get together. stop over criticising what is meant to be a "will they won't they" Comedy story line!!!

And I don't think carla and peter have any chemistry... it just doesnt work.
