A Grand Day Out

This is what I've missed from Corrie (and Tracy), a nice little episode where theres no real big dramas, just one family enjoying a day out.

I loved seeing seeing the McDonald's in my hometown, though at the wrong end of Blackpool (though my end is quite literally a building site!).

I thnk Corrie need to do specials like this more often, it was refreshing to just be following the one family rather than the whole street. It's also refreshing to see the characters outside Weatherfield for once.

I was very disappointed by this Bank Holiday Special episode of Corrie. It's as if someone found a few old Corrie scripts on the floor, changed "Simon" for "Amy" in Blackpool and rehashed the Steve/Becky lines all over again. Dull, dull, dull. And I don't often say that about my favourite show.

*Never saw last years Blackpool special* lol

Amy going missing wasnt the main part of the episode anyway, it was solved in five minutes lol

I found it very disappointing too. Last week's special had character development, the return of old friends, and great dialogue. It should have been longer. This one felt like a subplot that had been given a half hour slot, so we got the non-story of Amy vanishing ("Where is she?" END OF PART ONE. PART TWO. "Oh, there she is.") and a lot of Steve gurning. I love Steve gurns but I like there to be a plot as well.

Plus last week's episode offered the hope of Sean & Marcus getting back together. This promises more Tracy/Becky rowing. Who wants to see that?

it kicks off this week like when she finds out :) haha

I thought it was fine and i'm SO glad Steve didn't end up in Tracy's bed, drunken or otherwise. That doesn't mean she won't make it seem like it but we know the truth

I'm with Flaming Nora and Merseytart. I thought it was so bad I spent the ad break wondering whether to switch off.

Apart from a couple of glimpses of Blackpool, it could have been shot anywhere. It was mostly Tracy and Steve bickering, with some added Deidre and Ken bickering for extra dullness. Plus, it's obviously a set up for Becky going ballistic when she finds out. Zzzzzzzzz.

What I liked about this week's special as opposed to last week's was that it was part of ongoing continuity, instead of being entirely standalone. Even though it had in common with last week that it took two stories and focused on them alone, rather than allowing other stories to also be bubbling along in the background, it still flowed more smoothly out of the episodes around it than last week's did, because of that connection to ongoing continuity.

Dull dull dull, been there before and done it before and Kate Ford's acting was truly appalling yesterday. Why on earth they extended her contract is totally beyond me. Why does Steve always behave so stupidly, knowing what the outcome will be. Its all becoming extremely tiresome indeed.

Absolutely terrible and a new nadir for the extremely irritating Tracy character. I couldn't care less about Amy, who seems to have a face transplant every few episodes, and the "disappearance" story was a complete rehash of Simon going missing last year. Although I like Steve, I think that Simon Gregson's acting talents are wasted in the stupid storylines that his character is being given. I felt the episode was a complete disappointment and nothing of significance seemed to happen whatsoever.

It would have been a good episode had I actually been able to put up with more than one member of the featured family. Nice premise marred by lack of originality and BLOODY IRRITATING Tracyluv.

I can see that this picture is from the extra 'deleted' scene - how can i watch it if not in the UK? Only itv.com have it, and they blindly believe that only UK residents ever watch corrie - and probably twice as many watch it worldwide! It's time they woke up to this fact - okay, sorry for the rant, now where can i watch the scene? Thank you for your patience:)

Anonymous: re: watching UK episodes. You can watch them on YouTube. When on YouTube type Corrie May 2 2011
Part 1. They are usually uploaded in two parts, sometimes three.....usually appear the day after the UK timeline.

I agree, ITV should realize it is not only Brits who watch....

In Canada, blame the CRTC for having foreign Television blocked. They want to uphold the monopoly of Canadian broadcasters.

I love Steve..he's such a feckin' moron. Can't wait to see Becks swan song too...I hope she rips all of Tracy's hair out in the bargain!!
