New contract for Brooke Vincent
Sophie Webster’s sticking around for the foreseeable future – after actress Brooke Vincent signed a new 12-month contract, reports The Mirror.
It won’t come as much of a surprise to us here at Coronation Street Blog, as Brooke is a big hit with viewers and proving herself to be a fine young actress.
Phil Collinson has reportedly told her: “You’re doing a fantastic job”. Sophie’s built up a strong relationship with girlfriend Sian Powers over the past year, and will have “an important part to play in the coming year”, according to an ‘insider’.
Sophie has recently hooked up Dennis Tanner with old friend Rita Sullivan onscreen.

That's grand. I was only thinking in last night's Corrie how animated and like the 'old Sophie' she was when talking about the halfway house for the homeless persons charity with Dennis and Rita. Brooke has a lot of sparkle which has been dulled by the recent storylines and I hope she gets a chance to shine again.

Great - 12 months more whining...
Brooke's a great actress, and has portrayed the lesbian storyline very well. That said, the character of Sophie is slightly too whiny for my liking.
I dont like Sophie at all, with her shouty foghorn voice, constant cobb on face and rather butch demenour. I dont think Brooke Vincent is a particularly good actress either despite the hype.
I like her, she's a great little actress, probably the best out of the young ones.
I love watching her and maybe something better written for her would make people enjoy watching her more such as, a) she goes missing or b) she has been kidnapped or C) she notices some thieves doing something, and they try to follow her but she quickly escapes. Later on, those thieves track her down to Weatherfield and Norris makes a citizen's arrest. Well that would make a great story for her, I'm sure...when is it on?
