Flaming Nora’s Corrie Weekly Update, May 10 2011

Greetings and welcome to the Coronation Street Weekly Update.  And so without any further ado, here we go with this week's Coronation Street update.

Find out more about the Coronation Street Weekly Updates and why they've been written for th'internet since 1995 at http://www.corrieweeklyupdates.btinternet.co.uk/

The earth is back on its axis. The seas are calm, the sky is blue, Maria’s dressing hair once again and all is well with the world.  Fresh out of the hell that was her nightmare job of being underdog at Underworld, Maria’s back working in the salon for Audrey, doing what she does best, chewing on a pen end and gazing into the middle distance wondering why old Missus Errington’s been under the dryer since Tuesday without a cup of tea.   Audrey’s pleased to have her back especially as she’s got more on her plate than she can chew at the mo.

Yes, Audrey’s being blamed for having a fling with Claudia’s man, Marc the transvestite. Audrey knows that Marc likes to dress up for kicks but Claudia doesn’t yet know, and assumes the reason Marc’s bought a new silk scarf is for her, not him. So when he takes her out for dinner and says he’s got something for her, she’s not best pleased when she gets a box of chocs. “It’s a design classic, for a design classic,” he tells her, offering her the chocs. I normally get offered a big, fat tart. Anyway, when Claudia doesn’t get the silk scarf, she thinks Marc’s got another woman, which he sort of has, and that it’s Audrey, which it sort of isn’t. In fact, it most definitely isn’t and the only way Marc can convince Claudia of the truth is by dressing up in frock and matching scarf to deliver the shock news to her.  Claudia can’t take it, not going out with someone who out –Dynasty’s her at every turn and she drives off in her car, which is much like herself,  a fast-moving, sporty little number with the top off.  “I’ve been made a fool of by a tranny and a granny!” she yells as she speeds away.

Elsewhere this week, there’s been yawny tiresome arguments in the Rovers between Becky, Steve and Tracy. I won’t even tell you what’s been said and what hasn’t, you can fill in the blanks yourself, I’m quite sure, we’ve see this love triangle too many times. Of interest however, is that David sets his heart on getting Max back from Becky and Steve so he can play at being diddy daddy David.  He doesn’t yet know of course that his new wife Kylie sold her son to the McDonalds for a whole load of McDosh.

In Roy’s Rolls, Sylvia’s helping out in the caff, adding her tuppence of insight to every conversation she eavesdrops.  “I know all about women like Tracy Barlow,” she tells Becky, “I was almost one myself.”   Ooh, I bet she was.

And that's just about that for this week.

This week's writers were Jan McVerry, David Lane, Carmel Morgan, Simon Crowther and Chris Fewtrell.  Find out more about the Coronation Street writing team at:

Not sure if Maria is in the right profession seeing as how her hair is a total mess.......glad she's out of Underworld though.

Did Claudia drive away? I thought she turned up in a taxi.

If we have to see another "Tracy tries to split up Steve + (insert current wife's name here) by lying and being a manipulative sociopath and steve is too stupid to notice" storyline, I'll be hitting mute a lot...
