Sophie and Sian - the future

It’s fair to say Sophie and Sian have been through quite a lot since they admitted their feelings for each other and became a couple eight months ago. First Sian’s ex, Ryan, caught them kissing. Then they were caught out again by Claire, who outed them during an argument with Sally - in front of half the Street, on a train!

After that they ran away as Sophie was terrified of her mum’s reaction while Sian was just scared of her dad - full stop. Given that the only two times we’ve seen him were when he threatened Ryan and after they ran away and he accused Sophie of twisting Sian’s mind and abusing her, you can kind of see the girl’s point.

The fact these two appearances were over a year apart suggests he’s not exactly the most hands-on of parents. He then proved what a spectacularly bad dad he is when he managed to get his daughter’s age wrong - face/palm moment or what?

Now the couple face a whole new problem. Sophie’s world is about to be turned upside down when she discovers the dad who was the biggest support when she came out is in fact a dirty, cheating liar who fathered a baby with his best mate’s wife. So the baby she was helping to look after on Monday is going to turn out to be her half-brother. She seems to have her head screwed on but this may leave her pretty screwed up. She’s going to need the support of her girlfriend.

Kevin being kicked out of the house will of course solve the problem of having to fit five people round a four-seater table. If I had to choose a dinner guest out of Sian and Kevin I know who I’d choose! Then again it will create the problem of both Sophie and Rosie having to adjust to the fact they have basically been lied to for the past year and a half by their dad.

It’s highly unlikely Sophie will go completely off the rails and go on massive drink binges but it’s no doubt going to be hard for her to get her head around. Some people may question whether Sian would want to stay around with a family this unstable when she thought she had got away from broken homes when her mum decided her boyfriend and his fruit machines were more important than her daughter (yes really!).

The big question is will Sian stand by her girlfriend through all of this, and will Sophie allow her to? Will she simply push people away? There has been talk of the girls facing temptation, but I doubt Sian would be heartless enough to cheat on Sophie while she’s trying to get over the breakdown of her parents’ marriage.

It has been noticed on Digital Spy that Sian was absent on Monday night in the aftermath of the crash, so will she move back into a broken home? Everything is very up in the air at the moment but with the reveal of who baby Jack’s real dad is imminent, it’s pretty certain there won’t be much let-up in the recent drama.

Good read :) I to wonder what's to come after the Molvin reveal.

I imagine both girls will take against their father and take Sally's side. Though don't forget, Rosie knew about Sally's affair with Ian Davenport and wasn't too flattering about it. She might think Sally's a bit of a hypocrite for chucking out Kevin after that. I hope Sian and Sophie can stick together for awhile but it's a soap, they won't be together forever.

I think Sophie might find it hard to take Sally's side though, she's always seemed closer to Kevin

Wasn't Sian screaming along with Sophie and Rosie when Sally said she was going in to be with Molly? Kevin was very fair with Sian, as was Sally. I can almost see them using her as a go-between to communicate with the girls.

I really wish, however, that Sophie would get back to school (sorry, I'm not British, is this allowed?) and bury herself in her studies; she was always an excellent student. ( John could tutor her so she could catch up) It would be a shame to see yet another bright Corrie teen (Todd, David, Chesney,...) throw away a chance at an education and a future.

Aren't both Sophie and Sian at college now?

I think it'll bring them both closer.

Ive read some spoilers for january not sure whether they are correct but it says that sally finds out about sophie and sians secret and have to face the consequences, this could mean they sleep together or something else.

Yeah, where was Sian supposed to be on Monday?
We saw a scene with Sophie talking to her on the phone before Sophie saw Tyrone get out of the taxi.

Was she meant to have gone home to her dad's? Or to her Mum's?

I mean they certainly seem like idiot parents but Sian could have been blown up of squished by a tram last week so I'm sure they're not 100% heartless and wanted to see her. Or she may have wanted to see them after seeing all that death and devastation.

there was a mention that she went to her Dad's. I expect because they weren't allowed back in the house at one point so that's probably where she went and couldn't bring Sophie with her as he wouldn't have it.

yeah, Sian "disappearing" on Monday nights episodes irked me a tad as well as Carla asking why Michelle was back so soon and the best Michelle could offer was "I'm just back."

Really writers? Really? That's the best you could come up with? I"M JUST BACK!?

They're really earning those paychecks with that bit.

LOL.

i would of thought she would have gone to her mums in southport because her dad disowned her when he found out about her and sophie.

"I'm just back" in the sense that "I just got back" not in the sense of "It's just me" ... that sort of thing.

Who cares about this insipid character, she has made no impact, just lolls about looking gormless or half spaced out. I cant for the life of me think why such a big deal is made over her. She drags Sophie down in every scene IMO.

Looney Baloon... Thank you for saying it!!! Sooo true.

I have had corrie amnesia.... I totally can't remember the affair that Sally had with Ian Davenport - or is it that Kev and Sally have had so many affairs/ relationships that I've mixed everybody up? Please tell me the details in a nutshell to jig my memory
Thanks :)

Beth, Sally had an affair with Ian who was a Car Dealer that had a contract with Kevins garage over servicing the cars. Sally became his secretary and had an affair with him

It's obvious what's going to happen.
Sophie, with her new-found morals, can't take her father's adultery and leaves the Street in disgust. This solves the 'five at the four-person table' problem, because Kevin tells Sally he owns the house and isn't going anywhere. Sally needs some sort of family and friends support and begrudgingly stays, and Sian doesn't leave because of her family trouble. She doesn't go with Sophie because it didn't work out the last time they left together.
With Sophie leaving just like that, Sian realises that Sophie never really loved her so Sian looks to someone else for comfort tout de suite. She doesn't have to look far as there's a tailor-made lez-friendly whore at home. Sian and Rosie have a mad, passionate, physical relationship, six million male and many thousands of female viewers are in seventh heaven and everyone's happy. That is, until Sian realises the Webster slag is far too old for her and moves on to Katy Armstrong who has by then realised what a div Chesney is. All male and many female viewers still happy.
Problems solved!

I tell u what, wouldn’t it be nice if for once in a soap or serialised drama that in a time of utter carnage following last week’s events & the further fallout that is no doubt to follow, if instead of talk of it causing a division between them if it brought them closer than they already are. Of course as a 16 year old, this is gonna hit Sophie hard, but why not have Sian stand by her girl when she needs her the most. Whist the natural thing to do is to continue to throw roadblocks in the way of a couple on any show, perhaps the 2 of em sticking 2gether may help to give some life back into the street. Remember from interviews the 2 gave back in April just when the storyline really got going, they felt it was a long term thing for the 2 & not a phrase. It’d b such a shame if the writers decided to throw that all away. What we need is for these events & how the 2 cope together reaffirm how much they care for each other. Hopefully in the real world this sort of thing can bring people together, not drive them apart. Plus it’d be nice for once if for a good on screen relationship that I think could go far (be good if it were with Brooke & Sacha) isn’t broken for the sake of viewers ratings. I’ve seen too many what I thought were good on-screen couples broken over the years. About time one stood the test of time.
