Seems there's another Coronation Street celeb autobiography out on the shelves this month in addition to Bevery Callard's. This one is by Denise Welch who played Natalie Horrocks Barnes in the 1990s. She's the one, if you recall, that broke up Kevin and Sally's marraige. Turns out the big scandal revealed in her book is her confession that she had a cocaine habit while she was on Corrie. In the Mirror there are excerpts from her book. She admits she was suffering depression and that was how she coped (badly) with it. She also had a drink problem and an affair with a younger man while still married to Tim Healy. Sounds like she'd really been through a bad patch but is finally on the road to recovery. The risks she took and descriptions of how she struggled make for pretty harrowing reading. Her book, Pulling Myself Together, is out April 29 and you can also order it online.

Anyone who has seen her on Loose Women will hardly be surprised. She is a mass of neuroses, and endlessly goes on about her numerous phobias... and continually interupts and shouts over anyone else (guests included) who is talking.
I saw her on the "advert" promoting her story for the news of the world, all I can say is who cares, we all have problems and dont advertise them to the world.
Maybe she is a little nuts; but she is still one zinger of a looker. The story with Kevin was stupid. As if a cool chic like Natalie would go with a dumb little grease monkey like Kevin was just beyond belief.
As a follow up to my last comment, I have checked out Denise Welch on the internet and she really does leave sosmething to be desired. Methinks she really is nuts. Anyway my comments about the Kevin storyline are still right on the mark.
I thought Denise was good in Corrie, coke or no coke. And I really liked her in Waterloo Road. But I'm sorry to say I won't be buying this - I'm fed up reading about her various ups an downs in every women's mag around. She's a good actress - she doesn't need to do this.
Cocaine is extremely common in the media. Some people use it occasionally and no big deal, some get sucked in and become dependant.
It's NOT a rarity, and it's NOT a big scandal.
