Rather clever comment, Scott! Says it all. Well done.

Oh Scott, I was so looking forward to reading you ripping apart this somewhat divisive week, Five Things is always the highlight of my week (but then I don't actually have a life). But on reflection there really isn't much else to say - it was silly, gripping, awful, heartbreaking and funny, but not necessarily when it should be. Everything we love about Corrie, in other words! Keep up the good work, and see you next week!

Scott. The clip with Bette[I miss her]sums up how I felt about this week perfectly!

I like what you did here. I noticed this myself when I was taking a screengrab that aside from not being able to hear much of what was going on, it was really tough to see what was going on most of the time. It was heavy going. Let's just leave it at that.

Poor Johnny, he came onto the show with such swagger and ended as a broken man...The whole story line with his uncovered criminal past just destroyed the whole character--his personality, his self-respect...And then those pathetic months in jail where everyone was abusing him but he didn't care because he was hallucinating images of Aidan. Really too sad and pathetic. I wonder why they did that to him. Every time he came on the screen, I flinched he was so sadsack. Meanwhile Jenny went from being so weak and lost and broken to stronger and stronger--now she's the radiant landlady of the pub!

I agree that I couldn't actually hear what Abbey was saying, as the loud gush of the water drowned her voice out.
Apart from that, I thought the horror street week was great and I was hooked. I agree about how pathetic and sad they made Johnny - it was a silly back story about the criminal past and him going to prison. No wonder he wanted to leave. But that's soap plots for you.

A totally dire week. Terrible script delivered by clearly embarrassed actors - apart from the actor playing Harvey who was clearly enjoying himself! Oh dear.

Despite the high farce and blundering, all of which we could see coming with all the trailers, spoilers and publicity before the week, I kind of enjoyed it all. It was too much, too many storylines, too dark (visually), too hard to hear (I always use subs anyway) and we had another darn firearm. It was all just as jumbled up as the real world is at the moment.

It was all worth it just to have Scott post my fave Bet Lynch line ever!
