Corrie's Geoff and Yasmeen story attracts official complaints

There's much in the media at the moment about hundreds of complaints being made to Ofcom about Coronation Street's coercive control storyline featuring Yasmeen and Geoff.

You can check them for yourself.

At the Ofcom website, there are weekly lists showing how many complaints have been made against specific programmes

As far as Coronation Street go, the complaints are as follows:

For the week ending Feb 17 there were 15 complaints. The report is here.
For the week ending Feb 10 there were 71 complaints. The report is here.
For the week ending Feb 3 there were 41 complaints. The report is here.

And in the weeks before these, there were even more complaints too, although there's nothing on the reports to say which storylines had been complained about.

The only good thing about this difficult to watch storyline is that we know it'll end and Geoff will get his comeuppance. And that's got to be worth looking forward to.

How do you know all of these complaints are linked to that one storyline?

Exactly, that's what I wondered too. The tabloids are all saying there are hundreds of complaints to Ofcom about this story. Maybe they have more access to the Ofcom site's stats that we mere mortals don't.

I would think the expose of a sexual predator would be reason for some complaints. Or maybe the idea of people being shot. Loanshark activity. Sex on a hairdresser's couch. Parents falsely accused of abusing their kids.

I fast forward every time Geoff is onscreen, so this isn't an issue for me. Can't wait to see him go!

I fast forward too! Who are these people who take time from their lives to complain formally about a television show. If you don't like it don't watch. lol It is that simple. I am a fan, but some storylines pop up that I find boring or hard to watch, I fast forward and watch the bits that I enjoy.

I also fast forward those scenes. i can't stomach to watch this horrible story line. It has also gone on far too long.
