HOSPITAL SCENE KLAXON!
In hospital this week is young Jack who’s diagnosed with Sepsis and in intensive care. Sophie blames herself for not getting him to the hospital quick enough and in her fury at the NHS, demands that Adam Barlow sue the medical profession for not diagnosing Jack’s illness earlier, even though it is extremely rare and very difficult to diagnose.

HOSPITAL SCENE KLAXON!
Bethany panics when Ryan starts kissing her and runs from Michelle and Robert’s living room in a right state. Sarah storms into the room and pushes Ryan, he falls and knocks himself out and ends up in hospital where he tells the police he can’t remember who hit him. But when Sarah visits him he tells her he remembers everything and he wants a thousand pounds off her for keeping quiet about the ‘attack’.

Eccles is poisoned when Simon’s ex-mate Tyler slips the dog sausages laced with slug pellets. Toyah finds the dying dog and rescues it, and Eccles is well again. But even though she’s saved the dog’s life, Peter tells her he still wants nothing to do with her and a For Sale sign goes up at the Rovers. It’s always an exciting time when the Rovers goes up for sale, you feel there’s a change in the air.

Steve sorts through his bag of old engagement rings, trying to find the one that Tracy had the first time around. He thinks he’s found it but when he gives it to Tracy, she’s over the moon that he’s bought her a ‘new ring’. However, it’s not new at all, it’s one that belonged to Tracy’s arch-enemy Karen McDonald. Oh, I can’t wait for her to find out. Ken offers to pay for Tracy’s wedding to Steve as long as she has a double wedding with Daniel and Sinead. It’s an offer that goes down like a lead balloon with Tracy and she refuses - which is exactly what Ken had hoped for.

Bethany gives Max and Lily a makeover. David’s up in arms with Max having his face done up like David Bowie yet has nothing to say on his tiny daughter done up like a tart. He warns Max against wearing make-up and all it could signify, his homophobia at odds with the David we know. He further bangs on about it to Billy the vicar and makes crude homophobic remarks. Billy demands to know what’s going on in David’s head and David breaks down and tells him about the rape.  David also proposed to Shona this week but she has the good sense to turn him down, knowing that he needs to get his head sorted before she says yes to spending the rest of her life with him.

In the salon, Maria starts – gulp - changing things. Audrey, as you can imagine, isn’t best pleased. Maria is setting herself up against Audrey and I think we know there can only be one winner here my darling, hmm?

And finally this week, Flora moves into an old folks home and leaves Sinead and Daniel a cheque for thirteen thousand pounds. Sinead wants to spend the money on opening a vintage clothes shop.
And that’s just about that for this week.

Oh how I wish it would become known to Michelle what a thoroughly nasty person her Ryan is. What a skank! Please write him out asap.

Like mother ,like son. Nurture over nature in this case.

Not like any intensive care ward I have ever seen ! You never see a nurse or a Doctor, apart frm the sham ne who is Michelle's son. Why are they always in single rooms? don't they have wards?

For all her shouting, the reason Jack is ill may actually be down to Sophie brushing off his skinned knee instead of washing and dessing it properly. Grrrrr

Plot twist- Steve sells his collection of engagement rings and buys back the pub for Liz to run (again)

Although I agree that Ryan is a nasty piece of work with his blackmail scheme, what about Sarah as a mother who was gleeful when Bethany got away with attacking a customer with a broken beer bottle in the lap dancing where she was working [underage I may add]?
This is the fourth time that a man has been assaulted because of what Bethany went through,Gary stabbed by Bethany, beatened up by the bouncers at her request and the aforementioned assault with a broken beer bottle.
I'm getting tired of what Bethany went through being used as an excuse and perhaps now this will be a lesson to both mother and daughter that it's not right and they need to control their tempers!
Bethany needs more counselling!

Steve and Gayle could open a stall in the market selling off their rings.

I haven't seen these scenes yet, being in Canada, but the thought of Steve sorting through all his old flame's rings trying to figure out which one was Tracy's sounds like great comedy.

Figures that Sinead would want to use the money - that they have largely because of Daniel - on something for herself. I thought she was a great designer and enjoyed making soap? When has she ever expressed an interest in opening a clothing shop before? I hope they don't actually go through with that idea.

Beth- nasty, gobby, vindictive, selfish. Why on earth would Kirk want to be with her?

Very few likeable characters on the Street atm. The only characters who have anything in the way of complex personalities are Tim, Sally and Jenny. On paper other characters might sound multi-layered but on the screen they *mostly* come across as selfish or boorish.

I agree Humpty Dumpty. The whole team could make a difference. Why not depict people being kind to each other, supportive any understanding? There are no benefits for anyone being so horrible. The factory staff behaviour is from the playground, judgements are rife and the convenience of all forgetting their past history is giving a picture of so many of the characters failing to learn one iota of wisdom. Roy lives and breathes honesty and Rita has compassion most of the time and Mary has a quirky authenticity.Shame.

I’d add David and Billy to the multi-dimensional list. They’re both hugely flawed but caring at the core. I loved their scene at the center, esp good as the characters really hadn’t done much together before.

Ryan gets worse with every reincarnation. Now he's a real nasty piece of work, exploiting Bethany's grooming horror to extort money from Sarah (who is hardly well-off).
