It's a shame that the winners names aren't ever recognizable from posts made on the site. Neither do I remember anyone ever posting a 'thanks' when they win.
Looks like the competition website entrants do end up winning.
Amanda, appreciate your concern but this is wrong.
Lots of people who win prizes do email me or tweet or leave comments (and sometimes send photos which we blog) to say thank you.
Also, the winners names do not have to match up with commenter names on the blog - all winners are drawn at random.
Competition entry websites are not allowed to run our competitions and when we spot a competition on one of those websites we take action to remove it immediately.
Lots of people read this blog without commenting, and lots of people leave comments as "anonymous". This doesn't mean people can't enter - and win - the competitions.
The draw for competitions is 100% random from all correct entries.
