Now I know Coronation Street is no stranger to the problem of underage pregnancy, just ask Sarah-Lou and Bethany, but if Michelle was another instance of the phenomenon, you'd have thought we'd have heard, especially with mammy Connor around. So, no Ciaran, your fiancée isn't 33, she's 36. She was born in 1975, it's out there on the interweb. She and her husband Dean may have been childhood sweethearts and married young but they didn't break the law to do so.
And speaking of Ryan, where is he? He disappeared off to Scotland to study last year and since his mam got back from her cruise, he's not even been mentioned. The two of them are very close, so I would have thought that Michelle would have been up there to visit him after such a long absence or he'd have popped back to Weatherfield with his dirty washing. Still it's Scotland that he's gone to and so like Susan and Peter Barlow before him, he's destined not to return for a very, very long time.

Ha! We said exactly the same thing. Michelle's early life has been notoriously fluid though - not just Alex (urgh) but Her Dean also became her husband, somewhere along the line, despite neither Michelle or Ryan having his name. Unless he was a Connor as well. Let's just assume that she's a lying harpy.
Assuming he survives Scotland, if and when he does come back, he's likely to look very different.

I always thought that Michelle was one/two years younger than Carla, who was the same age as Liam, and younger than Paul.
Carla was born in 1975 which makes her 36, and so Michelle should be 34/35. On wikipedia, it says Liam Connor was born in 1974, making him one year older than Carla and Paul was born in 1969, so the order is Paul, Liam, Carla, Michelle, but I think there is only a couple of years between Michelle and Liam, which would make Michelle now 35.
Assuming Ryan is 17, Michelle would have been 18 when she had him.
Incidentially, Corrie lists her date of birth as 1975 which would make her 36 unless a november/december child, so somewhere down the line Michelle has misinformed Ciaran!
She could well be lying about her age but Ciaran isn't that stupid is he? He knows Ryan and even took him up to Scotland for his college interview.
Sorry to be catty but anyone can see that there is no way Michelle is 33! Nearer 40 is more the mark.

I did notice that last night on Corrie - Ryan has to be 19 as he went off to uni last year. I guess they are trying to knock a few years off her age.
Rosie, I think that's way too much brain time you've spent on this one. No doubt Michelle modified the truth for the sake of a new romance. There is something about her though, and not necessarily her appearance, that gives me that sense of "closer to 40" too.
It's a complete co-incidence but the women in their 30's look older than their age eg: Carla, Eva, Michelle whereas the women actually in their 40's eg: Sunita (the actress playing a younger age), Sally look absolutely right. Shobna Gulati is about 10 years older than Kym Marsh.
I seem to remember that when Michelle first appeared and mentioned that she had a teenaged son, she acknowledged it somewhat wryly, as if admitting "yeah, yeah, I know, I was young when I had him." Was she always portrayed as an actual widow, or did they just say at first that she'd lost her partner with Dean getting posthumously 'promoted' to husband later?
Nevermind Ryan, what happened to her natural born son? we had months of that silly birth swap plot with her swearing to be always there for him and then suddenly he's dropped like a hot brick never to be even mentioned again.
