Gaynor Faye, who played Judy Mallett in Coronation Street, is joining the cast of rival soap Emmerdale as Megan Macey, the glam sister of hunky Declan.
Gaynor said: “I’m incredibly excited to be joining Emmerdale. The women on Emmerdale are strong and feisty and I can’t wait to play my character who’s fun but extremely driven and will stop at nothing to get her own way.
Here’s to the New Year when I take my first tipple in the Woolpack.”

Her Mum's going to write a few episodes then is she ?
I want my Mummy .....
Another well known jumping from soap to soap on the conveyer belt. Declan is a Londoner I wonder if she will bother with a similar accent or conveniently lived "up north" all her life.
I have fond memories of Judy Mallet and was sorry to see her go.
Hers was one of those characters that I recall at times, but then, I only know of the actress from her time on the street, no other show or press report.
I always liked Judy Mallet too
