Blanche's will causes shock on the Street

Blanche's funeral takes place next week on Coronation Street and there'll not be a dry eye in the house. I've got me box of tissues at the ready and a packet of sherbet lemons too. It's what she would have wanted. But when Blanche's will is read out next Friday, there's going to be a few raised eyebrows, to say the very least.

Deirdre gets only a few trinkets and Eccles is bequeathed to Ken. Little Simon gets Blanche's husband’s belongings and the rest of Blanche's estate, worth around £15,000, goes to psycho Tracy - who Blanche claims needs a helping hand more than anyone else.

15,000 pounds?
But she owned her own home before she came to live with Dreary. What happened to the dosh from that? Don't tell us she gave it all to charity!

I think she spent it on her Polish hip. She sold the house to Danny Baldwin IIRC; Jamie was living there when the Connors bought the factor, Liam moved in with Jamie for a bit, and then Liamaria (or perhaps just Liam) bought it off Danny.

Yes i think it must have been the hip, as well. and probably living like a Duchess down there in Portugal! Did she not contribute some money to Tracey's solicitor fees as well? I know Ken and deirdre took out a mortgage on the house too.

I know. I was wondering why Ken was thinking he could manage the loft conversion, after the re-mortgaging due to Tracy's legal fees.

Yes how would Ken afford the loft conversion? He is not working and Diedre lost her job at the Council. What do they live on? Why doesnt he just go to the library as usual?

Does Norris get something as he's at the will reading? Hope the funeral will have some continuity, with most of her friends there.

I heard Norris is there to hear that "Blanche has cancelled a magazine subscription." What a way to wind him up even after she's gone. Wicked.
