Steve Huison, who plays Coronation Street's Eddie Windass, also played Lomper in The Full Monty and he's auctioning his prized red leather thong on eBay, which he has held onto since making The Full Monty.
Steve says “I've hung onto it all this time waiting for the right cause to donate the money to. I suppose the red leather thong has become a lasting icon from the film, every stage production since has copied it. By the way it has been dry-cleaned!”.
Steve will also be offering Coronation Street items for auction including:
- a rare signed copy of the 7000th episode script.
- a unique opportunity for 4 to visit the studios in its 50th anniversary and watch filming of the soap.
- a personal appearance from Steve at birthday parties, weddings, etc., where he will present the host with a personalised cake.
In addition the following items will be auctioned:
- A three course meal for two, including a bottle of wine, at the Velvet Restaurant in the luxurious Velvet Hotel, Manchester.
- A behind the scenes tour for two of the Emmerdale studios and the Emmerdale location village in Harewood.
- A tour for two people to visit the This Morning studios while the programme is being broadcast live from the South Bank studio, London.
All the money raised will go towards The Soteria Network, a mental-health charitable organisation, one of Steve's passions. Bid for them on eBay here.

That all sounds great - I love Eddie/Steve, and am also interested in mental health. Can't afford to bid but must check in and have a look!
