The official Coronation Street site at itv.com has a video of the brand new opening titles.
Have a look here.
Corrie producer Kieran Roberts said: “In our new titles Coronation Street remains the star but we see it as part of a busy, modern Manchester through our opening shots. The overall feel is livelier, more intimate and more colourful and they look stunning, especially in high definition. We think the new titles have a classy, classic, timeless quality but at the same time feel vibrant, fresh and very contemporary. That combination is exactly what we strive for in the show itself.”
What do you reckon?

I like some of the shots, but why so blurry throughout? I understand that they sometimes like selective focus, but it's a bit much here...
I love the new titles.. jazzy version of the theme song too! Great job!
Ooh i don't like it. I'm sure i'll get used to it.
Don't know what Blanche would have thought of it...
Blanche would have found something to pick at it. She'll probably complain that it were too blurry. Since she and other older folk see the world as blurry, they don't need any more help with blurriness!
They look and sound awful. I can't see them staying for long.
I love it! Looks very polished cant wait to see them on my screen the old ones have run their course
I think it looks like Toytown!
Possibly the worst creative decision I've ever seen made at Corrie Towers.
Blurry meaningless titles and a feeble "Corrie Lite" theme.
I'm actually angry about it... takls a lot to get me riled about Corrie these days, but this is a step too
far.
UTTER CRAP.
I would've preferred a Neighbours type of credits. Showing characters (main) and the actual street!
Blurry must mean contemporary... It would be better if we could see clearly the shots they are using. Not sure I like the re-arranged music completely. I don't mind the swing feel, but the signature trumpet lick which usually leads into the episodes should straighten out rather than swing IMO. Also, there's a new vamp after that lick extending the song as the lead-in to the episode -- I think that takes away from that signature lick. But, whatever we all feel, it doesn't matter in any way because the deed is done!
The theme tune sounds sleepy and lacks the grit of the original. The rooftop scenes look like Disneyland. Why on earth do this?
They did it because they're switching to HD
I love this opening, best one since the nineties, I have to be honest, I hated the 2002 ones, the theme blared out, and the shots were uninteresting, now Coronation Street looks alive!
I don't really like the random shots of Manchester at the beginning...but the rest of it is pretty good!
Oh lawsy, Deirdre's neck in high-def on our 42" plasma TV. I'm cringing already. :(
I thought I'd hate this but I actually quite like it!
Hated the sound of this when I read the description but I actually quite like it, I *think*. At least there's still a cat. I like the cat.
I'll reserve final judgement until I've seen them in HD, but from what I've seen on the web they are simply awful. HD is supposed to be super sharp, yet most of the titles are completely out of focus. The only shot I like is the final static title screen.
