To be blunt Helen is a mediocre actress and the story has become laughable. Deserves brickbats rather than bouquets.
It's hard to judge quality acting -- so much depends on the writing and whether you like that kind of character/archetype but perhaps DC, you are right -- I never liked the way she keeps "whispering" -- is this intentional or is this a way to "cheat" out of a difficult performance? In any case, I'm fed, too or rapidly getting there with Gail Platt and this whole jail plot. I say leave her in jail for at least a bit... then see if she/story gets a bit after being put on "ice".
