Coronation Street Episode Review Monday 4th May
I have to say that I agree with my blogging colleagues (blogleagues?), Ms Kelstar and Merseytart, that it would have been a preferable end to this storyline if Yasmeen had seen the light and left Geoff, instead of (attempted) manslaughtering him, and then the inevitable Free The Weatherfield One campaign/follow up storyline.
Yasmeen, still in her blood-red, wine-red dress, tries to wipe her hands of Geoff, literally, on the front of the frock. She then rings the police to tell them she has murdered her husband and they turn up with an ambulance. Tim bursts in and goes with the unconscious form of Geoff to the hospital, to sit by his bedside.. The police take The Dress and a befuddled Yasmeen meets with Imran who is basically on speed dial to the cop shop. The police detective (whither D.S. MacKinnon?) doesn't believe it was self defence and after interrogating Yasmeen, says she will wait until Geoff wakes up to get his side of the story.
The residents discuss the Metcalfe Seniors. Cathy and Brian decide that Yasmeen had a cob on because she wasn't taken by Geoff for a big night out. Interesting, wasn't it, in Friday's episode that the Corrie folk thought that Yasmeen was in the wrong because she was moody whereas Geoff was the life and soul - goes to show how much people believe in the front people put on. Ryan phones Alya who said she will get the next flight home. On the other side of the fence are Tim, Fay(e) and Sally, who try to imagine a world without the Geoffster. We're always imagining it, Tim! Again, it goes to show how much people don't know.
Anyway, kudos to Ian Bartholemew who has done a difficult job portraying an absolute monster. See you in panto in November, if we're all allowed out by then.

I thought the detective was too aggressive she just kept firing questions at Yasmeen without waiting for a reply.
If this was the real world you would expect that Zeedan would return with Alya, Yasmeen is his grandmother too.
Yes, not a good advert for the police and hopefully not accurate...
