Also this week, Weatherfield hosts yet another bizarre award ceremony, whose recipients appear just as randomly picked as the kids they get to do the speeches, and, for some reason, Leanne is concerned when Oliver comes back messy from messy play.

To mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day, the feature discussion for Episode 417 of the podcast is all about Coronation Street during World War 2. Using information taken from Daran Little and Maggie Sullivan's books, the Official Coronation Street magazine from 1995 and, of course, that repository of all Corrie knowledge, Corriepedia, we chat about the history of the Street that's been created for the years between 1939 and 1945, including what went down on the 8th May 1945. We also discuss the legacy of World War 2 and its effect on some of the characters in the show, like Elsie Tanner and Percy Sugden.
