Oh for crying out loud, a decent Muslim girl like Ayla would never "snog" a lowlife like Gary Half Barmy Windass. Preposterous.
For a westernised female Muslim attending university, Alya seems very accepting of the restrictions imposed on her. She sees her father cavorting with Leanne yet she meekly adheres to the behaviour expected of her. I would have thought she'd have a row with Kal about the double standards in their family or, at least, let off steam with Gary.
I am not really sure why some people feel that the Muslims on this show should be above reproach. They're just regular folks like everybody else, making the same mistakes etc...as everybody else.
A Community Centre at the old butchers? Please. Of all the things they could use to generate jobs and income for the street, they make another "meeting" place? These writers are just silly.
Alya tells Gary their kiss was a mistake, they are from different cultures, he's got a partner and a child and her family would never condone their relationship. Begging him to accept it can go no further, she leaves.
I thought Izzy and Gary had broken up a while ago?
What are they going to do with the large, expensive walk-in refrigerator? It's a commercial venue. Renovations would be costly. Community centre? Silly idea! It's always seemed a waste to me that Roy didn't expand and take over that space.
Instead of talking to her husband,Kylie's solution to her problems is to go back to her ex for drugs?Again another 'issue' storyline [ADHD]is used as a ploy for another storyline if betrayal!Of course, instead of Kylie taking responibility,it will be twisted around to be David's fault!
