TINA’S DREAMS FOR THE FUTURE IMPLODE Peter confesses to Steve that Tina wants him to move away with her but he loves Carla and wants to stay. Tina confesses to Rita that she’s having an affair with Peter and a horrified Rita slaps her. Carla drags a reluctant Peter to Tracy’s engagement party but Peter is desperate to talk to Tina. As Carla lets slip that she’s pregnant, Tina walks in. How will she react to this bombshell?

Why is Rita so outraged? She had plenty of affairs with married men in her young day as a nightclub singer. Hope Tina slaps her back.
Rita believes because of her age she can get on her high horse. What has the life of a young woman got to do with the clapped out old bat, why don't you concentrate on your own life instead of meddling?
No wonder Dennis wanted to leave her, she thinks she has the right to dominate others.
Who is this nasty new Rita? She's not the Rita we've known for years. Is she losing her marbles? Don't like the way they're portraying Rita now. Don't like the way they're portraying a lot of characters now. It's all getting too miserable.
Maybe they could have a storyline where Rita is suffering from dementia which ultimately results in her death.
A change of personality is often the first sign that somebody has dementia.

Didn't Tina lead Rita to believe that she was remaining in Weatherfield to be there for Rita after Dennis left? Perhaps Rita slapped Tina because she felt she had been used and lied to.
Anonymous,I would think Rita's urge to slap Tina would come later, after Rita had had time to process that Tina had not stayed to support her, but to conduct an affair with Peter.
This 'knee jerk' response has become unfortunately typical for Rita these days.
There must be something coming up for Rita, she's becoming generally unpleasant to watch.
Perhaps Rita rightly believes that he's been through a lot, lately, without Tina shoving a stick into the spokes. Tina is a large part of his breakdown. Yes, he's his own worst enemy, and he can choose to stay sober, but she is throwing herself at a married man, who's now a father-to-be. I love Rita, who has been going through enough crap of her own, too, and I don't blame her for slapping the selfish little snot!

For what it's worth,I thought Rita should've slapped Tina a long time ago instead of supporting her when Tina was Izzy's surrogate and wanted to keep Jake out of spite due because of Gary's drunken pass at her despite the fact she was encouraging his attention at the pre-natal class.Perhaps Rita is finally seeing Tina for who she truly is,manpulitive and self centered
