We saw him last on Coronation Street in 2007 but tonight, Audrey's son Stephen Reid, got a mention in the show.
Stephen is Gail's half-brother and the uncle to Nick, David and Sarah-Lou, who's in Milan, working for one of Stephen's businesses.
With thanks to Corripedia, we also remember that when Stephen was born, Audrey had to give him up for adoption.
Stephen turned up in the Street for the first time in 1996 to get to know Audrey and his half-sister, Gail. During his stay, Nick was
sent by Gail to live with him as Nick's relationship with his mother
became stained and Stephen offered him a job in Canada, which Nick accepted.
In 2007, Stephen returned to Weatherfield to visit Audrey and Gail for Christmas.
He offered his other nephew David a job in his business and David
accepted. However, because of David's relationship with Gail, Stephen
offered his niece Sarah the job instead, so Stephen left Weatherfield
again with Sarah and her daughter Bethany to Milan. He was unable to make it to Gail's fifth wedding to Joe McIntyre.
Could it be time for Stephen Reid to reappear?

I think nah. There's already overload of Platts' family characters.
Bring back sarah Lou and Beth too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I completely forgot about him! If they brought him back they'd probably just turn him into some sort of psycho or for SURE a cheater!
Not really fussed...it would make more sense to bring Sarah back...even if they need to recast the role. It's ridiculous that she never visits, especially with all the high profile storylines her family has had lately. Mind you, Martin never visits either...and whatever happened to grandpa Ted?
God no! The actor who played him was horrible. He was an American actor trying to do a Canadian accent which he failed miserably at. Why in God's name do we need another member of Gail's dysfunctional family! If they want to bring anyone back please, please bring Ted he was awesome, classy and had a ton of common sense!
Lord have mercy. No more Platts!
Why bring back former characters when they can't seem to write proper stories for the ones they have already brought back? And yes, I am talking about Dennis.
I thought he was in Milan too... but Audreh seems to think he is in Canada - maybe he couldn't stand Sarah-Loo's whining?
Good grief - he and the current Nick Tilsey would probably look the same age.
Maybe if they get an actor from the part of Canada Stephen is supposed to be from. The last actor they had playing him did a terrible job and the accent sounded nothing like a Canadian one. As a Canadian with an authentic Ontario accent I was quite offended that Corrie hired an American who did such a poor imitation of us.
I also remember being quite annoyed that an American actor was hired to play someone from Canada.
I was going to say how would a Mancunian like having an actor from London learn how to speak as if they were from Manchester, but we know how negatively many reacted to that!
I'd rather they brought Sarah back with Bethany. There's more storyline potential there. Sarah could goad Nick into bullying David for causing the car accident, while discovering how horrible Todd has turned out to be. And they could have Bethany make friends with Amy and Simon, while butting heads with Faye. Bethany's actually one person I COULD see as a teen rebel because I've never seen Sarah as a good mum. And if they want their 'hunk,' maybe that could be Sarah's boyfriend?
