John Michie, who plays Coronation Street's Karl Munro, has confirmed that Karl won't be killed off.
Digital Spy reports that John has already filmed his final scenes as Karl and is expected to bow out of Corrie in September on screen. He's now joined the cast of Holby City.
John said: "It's quite short and intense - a month of Karl ducking and diving, trying not to get caught. think the writers have got his exit just right. He doesn't die, which is good. You never know, in a couple of years he might come back. I don't believe in closing any doors."
The main problem for Karl will come in the form of Craig Tinker (Colson Smith), who knows more about the pub blaze than anyone thought.
John explained: "Karl was starting to think he'd got away with it, until Craig comes up with this annoying fact which plunges him straight back into the jungle of madness. He feels he can control this kid, at least for a period of time.
"Karl will do anything to get his prize, which is Stella, so Craig had better watch out. I know I've always said that Karl is no killer, but he's starting to go slightly mad now."
Well, even if he doesn't get killed off, we know Karl is definitely leaving. I just hope he takes St Ella with him.

Could be a good month with Karl and Craig. Less happy about the actual siege situation but at least this story will soon come to an end. If Karl doesn't die, that means he's got away with murder. His comeuppance will be that he lost Stella. Speaking of whom, how can the character survive with Karl and Gloria gone. I hope tptb don't try to hook Leanne up with the Prices. Eva has no connection to the street without Stella so they should both go next year.
Finally this is coming to an end. Too bad he isn't being killed off and taking Stella with him. I guess Stella and Dev will hook up after this is all over.
Karl not dying doesn't necessarily mean he has gotten away with it. He could be going to prison.
If Stella and Dev do hook up, please let it be offscreen.
Oh yay, more spoilers. Why don't they just publish the stories online and save the expense of filming it?
Yes, a man has gone mad when he thinks Stella is a prize. I think a life with her would be punishment enough.
Perhaps the Beige One could be killed off, a fate worse than prison for Karl and a delight for all of us! Looking foward to the scenes with Karl and Craig.
Karl's not going to prison, he's going to Holby City.
Not sure which is worse.
