Pics: Peter Barlow starts drinking again

There's a Coronation Street spoiler in today's Mail that reveals Peter Barlow starts drinking again. The spoiler's prompted by paparazzi pictures of actor Chris Gascoyne, who plays Peter, in character with a bottle drowning his sorrows.

And I have to say, bottle or no, Peter/Chris does look particularly gorgeous.

Cobblestone said...: Hmm, just where we don;t want him going - but kudos for Corrie in keeping Peter's addiction real - not like Leanne's brief flirtation with drug addiction years ago, which was over in about six weeks. Alcoholism is, regretably, for life. I just wish it wasn't going to be used for such stale plot recyling as the Carla-Leanne-Peter triangle. Getting mighty sick of the once-great character of Peter Barlow (ok, I'll admit it, the character I actually cried for when I thought he was dead after the Live Ep) behaving like a colossal tool. He has always been one of Frost's favourites but where we loved him for his flaws he is now becoming irksome and dislikeable. Then there's the tiny inconvenience of Simon whom Peter was given a lot of money to care for. Leanne will seek a residency order or adopt Simon (whatever the legal proceudre is) and try to keep the bookies running. She'll have to seek some of Peter's cash as maintenance, I suppose. I think this could be an interesting story and I love Peter. He's weak and immature so when Carla finally boots him out, he'll be running back to Leanne. Coronation Street Script Writer 2: "erm..... i know!!! Peter drinks again. Its only happened 4 times in the past couple of years. It'll feel fresh to everyone".

Coronation Street Script Writer 1: "Great idea! Infact, lets make it so that both Carla and Leanne fall pregnant at the SAME time. NOBODY will see THAT coming!"
