Tonights 2nd ep was the best corrie episode ive seen for a while (even without much humour in it!) As has been said Jane Danson (Leanne) can act well with anything she is given.
The Roy/Slyvia storyline came along nicely alongside Leanne/Peter/Stella with the minor sub plots along the way.
The stories were well told and the ending was emotionally powerful.
Ive sat on the fence regarding Michelle Collins but tonight I think she came across well. This was corrie at its near best. No sensationalism, no over the topness, no endless screaming matches for the sake of it.
A good episode to end a difficult week.

Haven't seen it yet but I hope Tracy lets loose on James. She's got a nasty tongue on her, it'll be nice to see her using it on someone sooooo diserving for a change.

Yep even old Frosty had a lump in his throat at the end when Leanne was sobbing, that woman acts everyone off the screen. And I am going to admit it..........I am beginning to like Stella and Carla is becoming very very annoying indeed, why doesnt anyone go home for a wash and change of clothes/underwear when they spend the night with someone instead of turning up for work in the same clobber? Pooey.

The acting from Chris Gascoyne and Jane Danson was absolutely superb tonight, with the miscarriage being handled in a moving and realistic manner. I thought that the scenes with Sylvia and Roy were interesting and that Roy's childhood needs a little more exploration as there certainly seemed to be difficulties between him and his mother. The argument between Sean & Marcus was quite a surprise, and I think that Marcus made some good points about Sean's laziness and comparable lack of maturity. Finally James is turning out to be a real rogue which adds a fascinating dimension to a character who came across as really kind at first, if a little irritating. I loved last night's episodes and they will certainly set the scene for some good storylines next week.

Very emotional and one of the best episodes in ages. Well done to both Jane & Michelle, very moving indeed.

Good, hmm, mainly passable at best! The old falling down the stairs routine (yawn) and the story not a patch on Laura's dive on 'Enders in times past. Then the old miscarriage. I know some young folk won't have seen this routine afore, but it was as stale as last weeks Warburtons toastie. And of course the now obligatory storyline involving the gay twosome, no wonder Dylan is mute!

BUT then it did get good, full marks for the fleshing out of the Roy & Mum saga, at a last some real edgy thought provoking drama not out of the 'Enders back catalogue or the diversity leaflet in Wetherfield Town Hall. At last Stephanie Cole is being used at her strengths - acting a good script and story and Roy's career on the street has finally led to this unwinding of why he is who he his. I can swallow the icky stuff if this story continues to flesh out!. This was Corrie back to it's best. I believe there was another storyline at No.1 involving a plank but I must have nodded off!

Great episodes! Little fun fact, the Doctor who told Leanne that she had suffered a miscarriage was my old Drama teacher! Paul Elsam! He also was a doctor when Molly and Tyrone were in that car crash. Great guy.

Ok so now I've watched it and I have to agree it was great.

I laughed out loud, (can't remembered what at now but i did), I shouted "good for you" when Marcus more or less told Sean to stop being just a good time dad, I melted at the beginnings of the breakthrough between Roy and his Mum, and I shed a few tears at the end when Leanne clung to Stella and sobbed her poor heart out at the loss of her baby and I'm pretty sure once she'd started it was for the loss of her real Mum all those years ago too.

It really rung out the emotions and I loved it.

The fall down the stairs/have miscarriage routine was done in Gone With the Wind in 1939 and many times since. But I don't care! It was done very well and anyone who did not find the final scene moving has a heart of stone.

I thought it was to boring and yet again predictable. Why couldnt Leanee of stayed there for a night or at least until Peter walked home? Stella just so happened to look in there. If this was real life, she wouldnt of looked in, nor would she of gone over to the bookies. Too predictable.

Absolutely fantastc acting from chris, michelle and alison - jane danson, outstanding as always. Am loving the way all the storylines are coming along at the moment with the exception of the terrible Anthony Cottons attrocious acting. Apart from that, first class episodes. So glad Michelle joined the cast, the scene between her and Jane at the end was believable, tender and full of emotion. Very talented coupling. Cant wait for more.

Why complain about the falling down the stairs/miscarriage gimmick if it led to amazing character exploration? That's what Corrie is supposed to be about; this is about the only way to blend "modern" sensationalism in soaps with the character drama of old. This is an excellent direction for Corrie to take!

I am having such a laugh at Deidre and her pottery...her trying to have a cup of tea out of one of them..too funny and nobody has the heart to tell her it's terrible.
Poor Ken is going to be heart-broken when James turns out to be the devil himself...enjoying Corrie a lot right now!
