Rovers window to nowhere
Here's a camera angle that you don't often see. It's the wall that is on the Rosamund Street side of the pub and it's got a window in it, a window that, while maybe it is all the way through to the outside, isn't one I've ever noticed. *And* there's even a little sill under it to hold a vase. There is a door on the Rosamund Street side which, I assume, comes out from the kitchen but I've not noticed a stained glass window. It's pretty though, isn't it?

Its a very pretty window and I hope it wasnt the one that got broken in the Becky/stripper fracas and was leaving the invisible Betty in a draught.
I did see it on the outside set when we were there last year Diane, the cement around it looked pretty new. I guess they must have added it to the inside set too, because I don't remember it being there last time I was in there.
The windows have been on the internal set for a while, but not on the outside as this shot for late 2010 shows:

I don't understand. Is the window-sill next to the cash register?
As regards the 50th anniversary pic, were some people photo-shopped on (the names Ben Price, Craig Charles and Kate Anthony come to mind...)?
Hmmm pretty window!! Not sure when it was knocked through though! Was planning permission obtained from Weatherfield council? We should be told!!
On the 50th anniversary piccy thing. I watched a fascinating prog on Discovery Science this evening that explained how someone had used linear algebra to develop a technique to tell whether someone had been photoshopped in (among other things it proved that John Kerry was not at the anti-war rally he was allegedly photographed at) and I thought of that photo!! Now I wander why that was
I loved the broken window scenes, because they were very careful not to show any match up between the street outside and the bar inside - mainly because if they had, you'd have spotted how ridiculously out of scale the set is!
That window's been there for quite some time but as you say, on the exterior set it's next to the "kitchen door". The mechanics of the Rovers and its intricate architecture are one of those things we'd best not study too carefully!
Yes there were some cast members photoshopped in on the 50th photo. Some of them i recognized from their official cast photo and others the light was hitting them the wrong way to the others! Mostly it was various members in the back.
