i dont and i would never pay anyway-wot a cheek as if they dont make enough money from ads already
Thank God I've got Sky+ I say! I prefer the BBC iplayer tbh.
I don't watch it online because I can't but i wouldn't pay for the service. This only encourages more people to download the episodes if they don't have a dvr box.
This seems like a completely bizarre move, since the iPlayer and 4oD are both free.
I don't use the ITV Player for the simple reason it's rubbish. It regularly breaks in the middle of programmes, the ads are often in bizarre places, if you try and go back it'll crash... I put the "Corrie preview video" on yesterday and I got both the adverts before the player hung up, then crashed my browser. Never.
Plus, sad to say, what does ITV have that you HAVE to catch up on? The big shows (Corrie, Emmerdale, X-Factor) are all repeated on ITV2 at least once. Is there a big market for people who MUST know what happened in Loose Women that day?
Thanks ITV you bunch of...
Just as well I don't watch it online anyway - but if I did I certainly wouldn't pay for it.
Who cares...can catch up on these wonderful blogs!!
This is mad. I don't use the service because of the intermittent provision of subtitles (I'm partially deaf) anyway but this would put me off completely.
Are they still going to have adverts too?
That is outrageous and a stupid move by itv since inlayer and 4od are free. I really appreciate the 28 days itv stores shows for - that's what gives it the edge over BBC for me. I hope there is a backlash and this idea is shelved, he's beginning to sound like Murdoch.
I do hope this isn't true as the iplayer is the only way I can access Corrie here in the US and I already have to pay to be able to do that!
Greed...pure and simple
I sometimes watch itv player if I have missed one but I have on demand tv and can always catch up that way. I certainly would not pay to watch it.
I often watch online at work the next morning if I've missed an episode. Always been very handy knowing I've that option.
I certainly won't be paying for the privilege, though... I mean, who actually will...?
No more downloading for me then! I'll just have to miss any episodes that I don't manage to get recorded onto my DVD recorder. I just hope I don't ever get a power cut!
Maybe its time for ITV chief executive Adam Crozier to go too (just like Phil Collinson) if he's also going to affect the viewing of Coronation street
If they want to make more money, why not put vintage episodes up for viewing and charge for those? I'd certainly pay for some 1960s and 1970s stuff.
To be fair to Adam Crozier, he has actually improved ITV, I suppose this will be their way of getting more revenue, though I hope this means the end of adverts
What is adverts? I watch loads of stuff on ITV etc including Corrie, and I NEVER watch adverts ( as I read or do something else while they are on) or even listen to them as I always press the mute button on my remote until they are over. Everybody is after money these days...utter greed!
I sometimes watch the player but there's no way I would pay for it. Silly move as every other channel, i.e 4oD, bbc, demand 5 are all free.
I see this coming to Canada. We are usually two years behind.
I can't watch eps on ITV either, being in Canada. But I would never pay to watch! What a dumb idea. Does ITV not understand how the internet works?
Why are you people who can't watch on the ITV site, not watching on YouTube?....the UK episodes are usually put up by someone the day after....no adverts. Easy-peasy.....when on the YouTube site, just type in Corrie, the month, date and year...and I usually type in Part 1 and you're on the cobbles..!
Canada is about 8 months behind. Natasha just left..Nick and Leanne haven't gotten together yet.
With the camera moving all over the place while filming, its bad enough watching it at a distance while using my TV, and I certainly won't pay to watch Corrie online as the photography will probably give me a headache with been too close to my computer.
getting more revenue !! open up the tours again !! that will bring loads of money the set isnt operational 7 days a week !! i aint paying for episodes i can get for free from the tv !!
I wish they'd get up-to-date in Canada; it's so boring to be lagging behind, I end up "catching up" reading various blogs and the ITV website [since we can't view the videos from there anyway]. Getting all the different countries Corrie broadcasts in up-to-date seems more important than charging for people to watch online.
To the last poster, CBC will be showing Corrie an hour a night starting September 5 and we'll be caught up by next summer
I was watching via the Crane Estate but they've shut down that board. Youtube is very hit or miss. If ITV would allow me to view in Canada I would pay. Let's see, we are about 10 months behind in Canada so at an extra episode/day we should be caught up by next May/June. Ugh!!!!!
How has Adam Crozier improved ITV? We never used to get as many adverts during most hourly programmes, and I'm pleased that adverts only appear once during Corrie. I watched something the other week, and with the first five minutes the adverts started. The next adverts appeared six or seven minutes after that...annoying at times (and I don't even listen or support these adverts)!
