The evil that is Amy Barlow

The Blackpool Bank Holiday episode of Coronation Street didn't do much for me, I thought it was dull and repetitive - and from fan comments left on the blog here it's clear that some of us liked it and some of us didn't. Fair enough.  But, I've got an idea that would put some much needed oomph into Corrie and lively up the Steve / Tracy storyline, especially if they are going to get back together.

What they should do, I reckon, is turn little Amy Barlow into a Tracy Mini Me and make her the most evil child that Corrie's ever had.

The devil's already in Amy Barlow's genes, it's all there, latent, waiting for Amy's head to spin and green bile to spout forth.  Both of Amy's parents have been in prison - Tracy for being a pyscho murdering bitch and Steve for being in possession of stolen booze and perjury. Her maternal grandma Deirdre has done time for being thick as a brick over John the fake airline pilot and her other grandma Liz has various crimes against fashion to be taken into consideration while grandad Jim's been in and out of the Big House so many times he's got a loyalty card for the prison canteen.

Corrie could be onto a winner with an evil Amy on their hands. A devil child with an angelic smile, she could act out Tracy's psycho schemes and no one would ever suspect her of doing anything wrong.  Insert your own evil snarl here....

The previous Amy was pure evil. Her glaring eyes staring at you from under that monobrow... shudder.

Ugh, and if the young actress learns her craft from her TV mom,... Right now, the custody/Max storyline is so far fetched, the quality of Amy's character doesn't matter. The only thing stupider would be Steve falling for Tracy. That would make Graeme & Xin look like Romeo & Juliet.

I would not like her necessarily to be evil but get in lots of trouble. It would be great for Tracey to be on the receiving end for a change. It would be interesting to see how Tracey handles it and whether it would change her as a person.

Here, here! Fits right in with the ludicrous and ridiculous story-lines for the past several months/year that have become this farce called Coronation Street.

I agree with Tina... hopefully she'd run circles round Tracey until she's goes mad (or madder at least).

I thought they brough Faye on board as the 'bad seed'.Unless they're going to turn the whole town into flesh eating Zombies after a ray from outer-space hits Weatherfied. Would make more sense.

Ha @ Monobrow comment earlier.

I wasn't a fan of the episode. Another kid getting lost in Blackpool. Not a good advert for the place.
And the bit with music in the car? *shudder*

There is never a reason to play Scouting for Girls. NEVER.

Why does another character have to be nasty? Dont we have enough nasty characters already? I liked Tommy Duckworth but he has been turned into a thieving scrounger. Corrie is becoming the Village of the Damned.
