The official Coronation Street site at itv.com have announced the casting of the tram driver for the soap's 50th anniversary episodes.
Actor Tom Burroughs has been revealed as the man who will be behind the wheel, when the tram is forced off the rails with devastating consequences. However, Tom is no stranger to the cobbles, having previously appeared as a nurse in 2007. He has also been in Emmerdale and acted extensively on stage and in theatre.
