Over the past few years, I felt Rosie's character had run out of steam, and the only reason Corrie were keeping her on is so they could throw her in skimpy costumes, which came off as a little desperate.
Then, new producer Phil Collinson comes in, and suddenly, Rosie becomes one of my favourite characters. Last night's episodes had me in stitches, as Dozy was trying to prepare tea before going to see Alfie (not Alfie Moon surely?).
The scenes sat really well with her character, I hope the writers carry on taking the character down this path, she could become a classic character in no time. Though the recent news was a little disheartening, but as it's only on the DVD, I'll let Corrie off the hook.

I like her as well. Really enjoyed the bit with Rita being snippy on the doorstep/kitchen on fire etc. & I love the sisterly banter with Sophie/Rosie. Like the Websters all round actually.
She was a hoot at the Rovers, too. Even the little bit with the cucumber slices, just give them something good to do and they'll reward us.
Oh, and while we're on the subject of redeemable characters, I think the spoon thing was my favorite Dev bit in years.
Yes - definitely agree re. Dev's spoon bit. I miss him being a good character.
Ditto
-(To what seapenguin said @ Rosie).
Helen Flanagan acts that type well, very well indeed - totally believable as a vacuous, frivolous and self centred type. When the character 'irritates' I wonder if dissenters against the Rosie character are truly separating the character from the actress; and what she's required to do to promote her character.
I dont mind Rosie, I do think Helen Flanigan "camps her up" a bit. Much prefer her to her sour faced screechy sister, have to put it on mute when she is going into one, which is most of the time I am sorry to say.
I did like her convo with Rita.
"You're holding a hairbrush and having a conversation!!"
But nanna banana remember how funny and cheeky Sophie used to be? :(
I love Rosie too :D
I think that the fire scenes were really funny! And i really like the connection between Rosie, Sophie and now Sian.
I used to request her free swatches of fabric to make doll quilts. I wonder if she still does that at her website...
