According to The Sun, Eileen Grimshaw is going to buy Jack and Vera's old house on Coronation Street later this year.
And they also reckon that the blue and yellow cladding's coming down too. We've heard that one before and it never happened - but maybe because of high definition filming coming in, they're going to have to reclad it?

Does Eileen own her house on the street? If so why move a few doors down and what's happening to Ty??? Perhaps another ridiculous house swap is on the cards.
Yeah, doesn't Eileen own her house?
I thought Eileen rented hers from Steve? and how will she afford a mortgage in "today's climate" - unless she still has a few quid stashed away from when her dad died.
Doesn't Eileen rent her house from a landlord? I always though Steve sold the house to a different landlord because he needed to raise funds to buy the pub?
These stories about Street residents buying houses does amuse me. Take Eileen for instance. I wouldn't imagine working for Streetcars brings in much money so how can she afford to buy a house?! Jason has all his money tied up in the flat he and Tina bought and Sean probably doesn't earn much either. Where is the money coming from?
Steve sold the house to a company to finance his wedding to Karen. Eileen was still the sitting tennant so she still rents. I reckon if Number 9 is up for sale later this year it must coincide with Molly leaving and the Dobbs marraige blowing up. I am afraid it sounds like we might be losing Tyrone too which makes me sad if it turns out to be true. Maybe Jason finally sells the flat and repays his mother the money she lent him to buy it.
when i moved its going to be hundreds of miles away not the same street!
anyway wasnt the cladding staying because when molly and tyrone had someone round to get it off they said it would ruin the structure or something?
they cant just magically make it disappear
Tyrone can get lost for me, I'm beyond caring.
Won't miss Tyrone!
if anyone should buy the house, it should be Aunty Pam and Bill. That will keep it in the family and I'm still waiting for a hilarious wedding with Pa and Bill.
