Helen Flanagan signs new contract
Amidst the axings of Natasha, Claire and Ashley, there's some bright news concerning Rosie Webster, as actress Helen Flanagan has signed a new contract keeping her on the Street for another 12 months.
Reports today broke the news, and I have to say I'm quite relieved, I saw her as a potential victim to the incoming producer's cast changes.
What do we make of Rosie Webster on Coronation Street? I get the impression she's quite like Marmite with our readers!

Love Marmite, can't stand Rosie Webster.
Can't stand either. Helen used to be an ok actress but now she's more involved in showing herself off and i suspect the celebrity has gone to her head. I'm sure she's a nice girl but her "acting" sets my teeth on edge!
I love Marmite, and I would agree with Tvor 'cept I think I see a tiny, tiny glimmer of hope for Rosie - in her scenes with Sophie, and her recent daffiness with the "footballer"? maybe she'll drop the pouting and develop into a proper character?
Dammit all. Preferred if Natasha stayed. Rosie is very low on my list of favourite characters.
From what I read and see in the press Helen herself is pretty much similar to Rosie. She is empty headed with little education, but thinks she is God's gift. In fact I suspect that Helen is likely as silly, vacuous, and conceited as Rosie; certainly the press she gets would indicate so.
Cant believe how much screen time she gets considering her limited acting ability...
She is appalling. Axe now.
Her hamming it up lately is becoming irritating. If they are going to keep her, send her on day release to acting school.
Any chance Stape could lock her up and the two of them could go forever?
Would much rather Natasha stayed. Rosie used to drive me insane but now i have learnt to laugh at the character. There are girls like her so i suppose Helen's not doing *that* bad a job. Although, i do agree that from what i've seen in interviews they seem to be very similar so maybe not a lot of acting is actually taking place. I'm just crossing my fingers for Maria being the next one to get the chop.
Not surprised she signed on for another year at Corrie. Likely no other show would have her....she would have to learn to act first.
I used to love Rosie, but I want smart Rosie back!
Yeah axe Maria, she's worse than Claire, Claire got funny :(
Axe Molly and Tyrone!
I can't stand the new Rosie Webster. How did she get so bad? I certainly hope this character does not mirror Helen Flanagan's real life or I feel quite sorry for her personality.
