Conversation Street Podcast Episode #478

In our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street released on the ITV Hub on the 5th July, and shown on TV between the 5th and the 9th.

This week was all about characters getting their claws into their man at all costs, with both Daisy and Todd resorting to devious means to get what they want. They're not the only ones with men issues either, as Izzy's got a mystery house guest who gets tongues a-wagging at the factory. The rumour mill is on Fiz's mind too as she urges Tyrone to fess up to the girls about Alina's big news, and Gail is set to put it all behind her as she heads off to Thailand.

Next up on the podcast, we ponder whether Corrie will be following EastEnders' lead in continuing to release episodes early online during the Olympics, then we round things off with more of your listener feedback.

For this week's bonus podcast, we thought we'd jump on the royal bandwagon following the Queen's visit to the cobbles.

After chatting about what went on during her tour of the Street, we take a look back at previous times that Corrie has been graced by royalty, including when the Queen opened the set on Quay Street in 1982 and when Prince Charles showed up to shake Audrey's hand in the 40th anniversary episode. As well as this, we chat about the time the show allegedly got a royal rap on the knuckles by mentioning Prince Philip's name on air, explain why Vera Duckworth was so convinced she had blue blood, and remember when Alf Roberts got his OBE at the palace - and why Audrey had to get down there to see it by hitch-hiking!
