Greetings Corrie fans, it’s Kelly here with your Friday night review.
At No. 6, Alya and Ryan are still at odds over his dj-ing ‘career’. She apologies for calling it a hobby but reminds him that to make it as a DJ he would need to both work very hard and be very lucky. Surprisingly, he doesn’t see this as barrier. If I’d have been Alya I might have been tempted to remind him that in 29 years he has been swapped at birth, raised by Michelle Connor, lost numerous members of his family, been run over and been targeted by gangsters. This does not point to him being a lucky man. There’s always hard work I suppose, oh wait I forgot, this is Ryan we’re talking about.
They bicker about whether Daisy fancies him, and Ryan tells his girlfriend that if she can’t trust him she shouldn’t bother coming to his gig. I think you got off lightly there Alya, I can’t imagine there’s a lot of social distancing in Salford warehouse parties. Unless Ryan’s dj-ing is so bad that they’re only expecting ten people?
Over at Speed Daal Billy gives Todd a ring, but their romantic moment is shattered when Summer arrives with Will. After giving her and the Archdeacon a sob-story about how sorry he is for breaking into the flat, he lets Todd know that he wants £5k to keep quiet. Todd spends the rest of the episode trying to secure a loan, rummaging through the cash box at the funeral parlour and generally looking shifty. None of which is noticed by Billy. Paul is the only one who thinks there’s something a bit fishy going on, but of course no one listens to him. I wish Paul would just forget about Billy who never really deserved him. Surely there’s someone else who would appreciate his rainbow unicorn onesie?
At the factory, the stitchers (who seem to only consist of Sally) are having to cover for Izzy who is not coping with her pain. Sally and Sarah both complain to Carla that she needs a better plan but she replies that she doesn’t have one. She’s probably also a bit distracted by Peter being home from the hospital looking quite hot now he’s finally had a shave. When Izzy calls, Sarah lies and tells her the order she’s working on has a flexible deadline.
In other news, George and Sean are working together to big each other up in the eyes of Eileen (who George seems to think is some sort of goddess rather than the harridan with a face like a slapped arse that we all know and love!). Also, Natasha relents and agrees that Nick and Sam should spend more time together.
Back in the pub, Ryan is disappointed to hear that his gig has been cancelled. Seizing her chance, Daisy dolls herself up to the nines, sends Jenny out and then invites the hapless berk to try out cocktails with her in the back room. Turning Ryan’s phone down and lying to Alya about his whereabouts, she plies him with drink and then placing her hand on his leg, asks which cocktail he’d prefer, the naggy girlfriend or the night of wild passion. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Ryan doesn’t even understand the question.
And that's all for this week. I'll be back in a fortnight or on twitter @mskelstar.
