Corrie boss Phil Collinson admitted in an interview with OK! Magazine that Corrie has had a little too much crime over the last year. He stated "I can take that one on the chin. I agree… we have been at the police station and the court room a little bit too much."
He went on to say that the show will be moving away from serial killers and criminals in the months ahead. This sounds like a good move, Corrie has gone a little over the top in this certain aspect over the last year, it wont do the show show any harm to make the show less about criminals.

I'll agree there though i have enjoyed all the drama except for Tracy Barlow gurning at Gail in her cell.
Well I don't think it will be ending anytime soon from the spoilers regarding Frank in the coming months...
So he isn't a completely arrogant berk like I worried he might be for a while, although hes hardly going mea culpa.
Hurray!
Oh good, glad to hear it - although of course we've still got a few dramatic, criminally-inclined storylines already in train to work through before entering this new period of law-abidingness!
At last some contact from the person behind the scenes.
Sick of all the arguing, shouting and the useless young characters,
bring some mature people in the street, it is sorely needed.
Get rid of the Webster girl and girlfriend, for instance.
The yo-yo character (Steve's wife) awfull, good, then back to awfull.
get rid of her too. Stupid David and wife!!!!
The only two young characters who are good are Simon and Chesney.

This is the best piece of Corrie news that I've read for ages!!
We need sex and violence in our soapland!!!
