Barbara Knox illness "not serious"

You may remember those rumours that were floating around last month about Barbara Knox supposedly leaving Coronation Street. They were debunked as the usual slow-news-day type of thing that comes up every now and then.

Today, the Mirror has a piece that may explain where those other rumours came from. Barbara Knox is apparently going to take some time off for an unspecified health issue but *will* be back. She'll be off screen for approximately six weeks and her absence will be explained. (I imagine Mavis will be getting another visit!)

There's a quote, albeit by an unspecified "source" that says: "Barbara felt bad that she had to go, but she explained it was in no way a serious health issue and that she'd be back. We had no option but to rewrite storylines and also shoot a scene in the Rovers Return to explain why should wouldn't be around for a while."

I watched a welcome return of Barbara to the street; but what's this? Do I dectect that one of our favourite street characters has had a 'bit' of work done on one of those well loved and appreciated faces?

Yes Debsy I think you're right. Looks like weight loss too!

Too right - she looks like she did in the 1980s! I half expected Alan Bradley to come along and beat her up. Well done to her - amazing to think she is knocking 80!

And whilst I'm at it,I hope we aren't going to have to watch poor Gail's tortured 'ferret' face up to her trial...perhaps her incarceration will make her consider a life of a single existence and give her a bit more of a back bone.Sorry folks but I know some of you out there agree! (Nothing against you Helen).
