Joe McIntyre's death has been revealed by The Sun who say that Gail's fella will meet his watery end in a boat accident.Gail's dad Ted, played by Michael Byrne, buys the Platt family a boat and names it Gailforce. But the vessel ends up bringing nothing but misery when Joe gets into difficulties and goes down with the ship.

This sounds Horrific! What a weird way to kill him off! Why would he go out on the boat on his own, anyway?

As a resident of Hartlepool, stories about people going 'missing' on boats make me think only of one thing...
This storyline does sound a bit ludicrous, I have to say. He should have died drug-accident related, not boat-accident related. It's very random.
So - yet *another* bloody tragedy in the long history of tragic events that is Gail's life. Highly plausible, indeed.

'Gailforce'? I think 'Contrived Plot Device' would be a better name.
I heard they were going to fake his death and claim the Insurance money, leaving Gail with a potential prison sentence1
