Back in 1973 Mark Hillkirk was injured after a spark from the bonfire on the Red Rec landed in a box of open fireworks. Since then Rita has refused to sell them. She had a huge row about it with Sharon Gaskell many years later and Sharon told her that as the Kabin now belonged to her, she'd sell whatever she liked. It looks like now the Kabin is Norris's, then he'll sell whatever he likes too but I can't believe Rita would have been so happy to sell those fireworks to Peter tonight.
I'll get my anorak.

Just what I thought!
My anorak is blue.
And what are these "Facial internet sites" Gail mentioned??? Sounds dodgy to me......
That's absolutely right! I said the same thing - but the inconsistency runs deeper, as Rita was has been selling them for the last few years, ie. since before selling to Norris. This issue has come up every 5th Nov in our house for the last few years. I know it's pretty impossible for scriptwriters to keep track of each long-running character's likes & dislikes, but Rita & fireworks were, as Sunny Jim says, an element in a significant storyline with Sharon. There should have been a note in the 'character bible' the writers use.
And another thing - Gail's random (tho' amusing) reference to "30 yr old drug dealers selling Methalone" ... surely as someone who's worked in a doctor's surgery for years, she would know it's 'Methadone', wouldn't she?
I agree Cobblestone that stupid remark from Gail, I think was supposed to be "funny". Shows what a rubbish medical secretary she was! I would have liked to have seen her in the faktry though as Carla's "PA" I think it would have been much more entertaining that watching Michelle strutting around thrusting out her full chest as usual.
Like that idea, Garden Pixie - Gail in the factory ... and no doubt Sally thinking she could get away with murder, as Sean obviously thought he could with Michelle. (Really glad, btw, that the writers have suddenly remembered Sally & Gail were best friends. Until last night I don;t think they've spoken to each other for the last four years, throughout all the trials & tribulations each one has been subjected to). The 'Methalone' remark would have worked from Sally, but not Gail; Jonathan Harvey slipped up a bit there.
Perhaps it was the actress that flubbed the line during filming? I think the fireworks came in when Norris was part owner of the Kabin and that was a few years ago now.
I thought Gail saying methalone and facial internet sites was done because she was a bit tipsy and showed up her gormless side. Pretty funny I thought.
