I just read the upcoming spoilers via the interview with Coronation Street producer Phil Collinson.
One in particular caught my eye..."We'll be putting Kym Ryder in the factory, running it with Carla." Wha??? I'm sorry, but Michelle running the factory with Carla? What will Michelle's role be? Charm the buyers into contracts? Model the lingerie? (size XL-DD on top!) Carla had better be careful, I think Michelle is better at pulling...pints, than running a business. Does that sound bitchy? I apologise. But it seems a bit ludicrous.
I can't wait to hear Rosie Webster's withering opinion about it! ;)

It seems a bit odd I must admit. But with Corrie, the unthinkable can happen. Just look at Kevin and Molly!
I might have to stop watching.
Agreed... I find Michelle very tiresome, and can't buy her as a business woman. And where would that leave Nick??
Rebecca in TO
Brilliant move, I think Michelle will work ten times better in the factory than in the Rovers, where she has been pretty much stuck for 3 years
It seems quite contrived, these two women are no longer friends and Michelle has no business knowledge. Where would she even get the money to buy into Underworld? I don't like either characters, so I really hope this won't be a long term thing.
Mmmmm...where would Michelle get knowledge...I dont know, its not like both of her brothers were buisnessmen or anything, and Carla and Michelle grew up with each other
Michelle has been kind of stagnating in the pub for a while now, and she can be sharp enough to hold her own; it's as good a vehicle as any I suppose, besides will free up a spot for any new arrivals ( Becky's sister for one) I'm just glad it's not Becky they chose to place, now she's getting tiresome!
I don't think she's buying into the factory, i get the impression she's just going to help run it. If she's doing the admin job that Rosie used to do, then i suppose that would work but it's not the impression i initially took from the statement. Her brothers might have been businessmen but business (or any other kind of) sense hasn't seemed to have rubbed off on Michelle to date. I may be proven wrong and that's fine with me :))
Kym can hardly act. She can't act Michelle behind the bar, how on earth will she be able to act Michelle as either biz partner or admin assist. As I recall, Michelle wasn't very on the ball at the bookies, which is mostly an admin job. Agree with Tvor that Michelle sure doesn't appear to have much sense at all. Look at her parenting. Also fear like Flaming Nora I might just have to forgo Corrie.
I love it when people say they might stop watching because of one thing or another that's happening in Coronation Street. There are currently about 60 regular characters in the programme, and loads of story lines all happening at once. We all like some, and dislike others. Surely this one change can't spoil your enjoyment of it *that* much.
^^ Too right.. Silly them, eh
I dont like Michelle, cant stand her grating voice and vanity. I hope she is not going to still be working in the Rovers and hey presto she is in the next scene in the factory a la Anthony Cotton when he was flavour of the month. Perhaps Michelle will offer her rather generous favours to clients to get orders in. A sort of honey trap. AND I thought Michelle hated Carla after what happened to Liam, but in soap land everything is forgotton in a matter of days.
What's the betting within two episodes of starting work she'll be an expert on everything that goes on there - Corrie never seems to show anyone learning the ropes when they start a new job. They're always experts in their field within moments of starting.
Could be interesting. I don't really rate Kym in all honesty but maybe with a different setting she'll be better. She's been behind the bar for too long.
I'm so sick of Michelle! Why are seeing MORE when I only want to see LESS? She's had her fill of storylines! She's run her miles! Ugh.
