Massive Platinum Star of the week (thought it galls me to award it) goes to Tony Gordon for delivering Maria's baby safely in a beach hut.
TARDIS:
Gold Star: Pam's picnic basket. A wide variety of sandwiches, muffins and cakes enough to feel the whole neighbourhood fit in that medium sized basket.
The Weatherfield Runway Fashion awards:
Gold Star: Kirk as Hiya Lowa! Brilliant stuff, though.
Silver Star: Eddie, with hair scraped back and wearing a tight red turtleneck pullover, dressed like one of the Wiggles, Anna reckons.
Bizarre visual:
Gold Star: Jason reckons cows are scary. They stand there staring while they chew, thinking of ways to kill you, in retribution for leather and burgers.
Lines of the week:
Darryl about David's scheme re Gary: "She (Tina) knows you set him up and she knows why." David:"Surely that proves how serious I am about her. If I'm prepared to do that.. " Graeme: "Well as gestures go, beats a bunch of flowers."
Jesse about Kirk:"He went from Hiya Lowa to the Little Mermaid in three seconds." Graeme: "Is it me, or does Kirk look quite good in a dress.... I've had worse looking girlfriends." (Funny stuff!)
Sally: "Put it away, Kevin, nobody wants to see it!" (Molly does!)
Tony to Luke about Rosie: "The only thing lower than that daft lass's neckline is her IQ" (I wonder if Rosie is going to make her mum call her Miss Webster?)
Pun of the week: Ramsay saying goodbye to Jesse and Eileen "Abyssinia!"

abysinia! haha that made me chuckle at the time. fabulous pun!
it galls me to read the award of massive platinum also lol, i feel your pain. however, the boy done good getting that bub out. as it seems they will persue a romantic/sexual relationship i did think well what nice way to see maria's 'romantic' area for the first time int it!
It's an old music hall gag from the 1920s.
Oh it's definitely got whiskers on, it's such an old pun.
Clare, yes, i think they'll put the two of them together until Carla comes back and blows it all sky high.
Although some of the stories are dire at the moment, Molly and Kevin, Rosie's windfall and Maria's ridiculous blood free 5 minute labour (Where ARE her parents by the way?), there is some good writing and some funny laugh out loud lines.
not all babies are born covered with blood or any blood at all - my sister wasn't. she was in labour for alot longer that 5 minutes even though it was a quick birth. everyones birth is diffetent.
her parents live in cyprus and liams parents are comming on friday! i loved liam jnrs little smile to tony at the end.
And special directorial award of the week goes to the Corrie director who all but attempts to insert Alfred Hitchcock's 'Psycho'
slashing-shower-scene theme music into the proceedings as Tony carries Mariah off the beach - LOLoud! What a scene.
Tony staggers under the combined weight and looks as if he's about to collapse, he must be thinking: "We've got to lighten the load or we'll never make it to safety. That includes any unecessary weight - overboard!
Mariah's baby senses this, as it now decides on keeping shtum, so Mariah gets down and starts walking, now inexplicably fully recovered.
An exhausted Tony, now free from lugging two-ton Mariah across the sand dunes, drools: "This reminds me of that scene in the film, Ice Cold in Alex. I could murrdurrh a drink right now . . . "
Now cue Alfred Hitchcock's slashing shower scene theme music, followed by bloodcurling screams from Mariah, cutting Tony off mid-sentence as she doubles-up, clutching at her abdomen in searing pain.
Tony assumes it's contraction pains, but it's not, it's -
- Cue: Repeat slashing shower scene music again -
It's -
It's -
Pssst! Hey Tony - It's Mariah's baby - it 'knows' and reacted to you openly confessing you could 'murrrdurrh' - and thought, as we all did: "What - again?"
'Ice Cold in Alex? Nah, more like horror flick 'Rosemary's Baby'.
Loved Kirk in the costume, really funny!
