Actor Geoffrey Hughes, who played the lovable and wonderful Eddie Yeats on Coronation Street, has been made Deputy Lord Lieutenant for the Isle of Wight. This is almost as bizarre a news story as Martin Platt launches his own range of cheese!

while on the ferry to the isle wight i spied jeff sat chatting to a lady friend. I was with my grand daughter who immediately wanted to go and speak to him ! so off she went and had her photo took with him and what a lovely man he is! my grand daughter only really knows him as Twiggy in the royal family so thank you Mr Hughes you made our day!
