A while ago this blog was the first to report that Jack Duckworth was going to get a new girlfriend.And today it's The Sun's turn to reveal that the actress to play Jack's pigeon loving new girlfriend Connie Rathbone will be Rita May. She's a brilliant actress who's been on Coronation Street four times in the past, most recently as Brenda the lollipop lady (pictured) with Jack Duckworth.

Since her former character has met Jack in the past, wouldn't it be great if she was returning as the same Lollipop lady? Continuity!!!
