Now that we know that Frank was cleared of the rape charge and can now walk free, and we know that Sally finds out about Frank cheating on her, I think that could be the catalyst for Frank's ultimate downfall.
We've long thought, here at Blog towers that Sally will be the one that ends up helping to bring down Frank Foster and this could be the start of it. Sally won't take this lying down and a confrontation with this man could end up with a frightening outcome. It remains to be seen, but that's my guess.
We also know that Frank Foster is going to be killed in a whodunnit storyline. Sally will likely be set up as a suspect considering how angry she's going to be, and possibly frightened if he gets aggressive with her. Then again, Kevin Webster could be riding to her rescue if Frank attacks her and we all know what kind of temper he's got! Clearly Carla is going to be a contender as will Peter.
Speculation:
But who will the the one that ultimately brings Frank Foster down?
If it isn't self defence or an accident, and none of the main suspects named so far are leaving the show, then Soap Law dictates it might be an "expendable crew member".
In that instance, my first guess would be his mother, Anne, in a fit of temper or temporary insanity when she realizes what he's really like. I know I thought maybe Rosie would be the one, but I think she'll be gone from Weatherfield before that.
Anne might catch him attempting to rape Sally and whacks him over the head and maybe she'll try to set up someone else, possibly Carla or Sally, to take the fall. The wrong person will be imprisoned at first, this year's recipient of the Deirdre Raschid "I Didn't Do It" trophe but the real murderer will be outed eventually.

First, I want to say that with all the leaks about Sally's assault and Frank being killed off, the not guilty verdict was almost a forgone conclusion. I would have liked a guilty verdict for the real-life impact it would have had, but as a drama, it puts him back on the Street where natural justice can be done. The expendable crew member could be a previous victim because surely Frank's behaviour is not new. It could be Kirk, avenging his sister's experience or perhaps even Maria, herself. I think Carla, Peter, Kevin are too obvious although there's always the double bluff.
There' something not quite right about the rape storyline. I felt absolutely nothing at all when the verdict was announced. I still find Frank a very wooden character; if they gave him a pal to confide in, we might get a glimpse of why he needs to be in control the whole time.
I too think Carla, Peter, Kevin and Sally are all too obvious. I know what you mean about Frank, but then Tony was similar. We never really found out why he was a control freak but Grey O'Brian played Tony with more charm where Andrew Lancel's Frank came across more pushy and cold. But then, with a mother like Anne, you can see where it comes from.
Yeah...Frank went from sort of a mild decent bloke to rapist in the blink of an eye...no lead-up, just a few raised eyebrows now and then and then...WHAM...right off his nut.
My $ is on Peter putting his lights out.
I hope they do a "Carl King" and keep the killer in the show
I vote for Karl - revenge is a dish best-served cold. I see Karl refusing to accept that Carl ran Stella over. Even better, Jason. With Rosie gone, he can finally express his burning, secret love for Maria (or Carla, fill in the blank).
Does Frank have to die? Wherever Carla goes dead men follow. First her husband (and business partner)Paul, then that awful Scottish freak (her fiance and business partner) and now Frank another fiance (and business partner). You could also count her her brother-in-law (and business partner) What are the odds in real life that one woman would lose that many men (and business partners) in so short a time? Surely she warrants an article in the FT.
