How is Abi feeling since finding out about Debbie’s involvement in the development?
She is absolutely blazing , she feels for Kevin more than anything else because for Abi loyalty is everything, she has her faults and her demons but she is loyal. This situation has made her even more determined to bring Ray, and now Debbie, down.
What happens when they all gather to watch the meeting on the TV?
Sally has set up the TV for them all to factory and everyone's feeling pretty anxious as Ray and Debbie have been told that it is looking good. It is very tense in the factory and they all watch in silence as the ruling goes in Ray’s favour and then the residents find letters on their doors giving them two week’s notice to move out. Abi is so angry at the injustice of it all.
What is the reaction of the residents?
They are a bit baffled as to how quickly the notices appeared on the doors and then they start arguing amongst themselves about how it has happened. Abi is the one who cuts through all that and tells them that the only way they are going to be able to have any chance of beating Ray and Debbie is if they all pull together.
Does she have a plan?
Abi never does anything by halves and she feels that direct action is the way forward. She feels as though everyone is too prepared to roll over and give in. She enjoyed the demonstration back in December so for her that is the way to cause Ray the most problems and she gets everyone onto a float and she is giving Ray grief on the loud hailer.
Has she underestimated Ray?
She probably has, but Abi does things first and faces the consequences later. She is quote shocked when the police turn up. She has to face up to the fact that she may have met her match with Ray and needs more than a megaphone and a float to win this fight. She has also upset Roy who believes her way of doing things is the wrong way.
Does she know the lengths Ray has gone to to get what he wants?
She is fully aware that Ray has not done any of this in the proper way but she has no proof. She is sure he has been bribing people but she is determined to get to the bottom of it, she knows she is causing herself problems but she is frustrated that the residents seem to be all too ready to throw in the towel.
Are you enjoying this side of Abi, the warrior?
What is great about playing Abi is that anything goes, I open each script looking forward to what she does next. There is so much more to come with this storyline and I have really enjoyed it.
