Tyrone calls the cops on Maria

In next week's Coronation Street, mixed-up Maria turns her attentions to Tyrone.

And in today's Daily Star they reveal that Maria will be the one to start secretly texting Tyrone, ending her texts with the letter 'K'.  Poor Tyrone thinks the texts are from crazy Kirsty who has just been released from jail.

When Tyrone finds out that Maria is the one sending the texts to him, he calls the cops.  The Star says this is part of a lengthy storyline for Maria that will see her have a breakdown as she struggles to cope after finding Marcus with Todd the other week.

Tyrone and Fiz find out that it's Maria texting Tyrone when Tyrone rings the number of his stalker and realises the messages have been sent from Maria’s new phone. Determined to get his own back, he will then call the police.

He storms at Maria: “All this time it’s been you! You’ve terrified me, made me think my kids’ lives are in danger. What have I ever done to you? You’re twisted.”

I think all of this sounds an intersting twist for Corrie.  I'm loving Maria with a bit of backbone at the minute and it's a shame she has to be sent over the edge into crazy-lady land, a place where, sadly, so many of the Corrie women are sent.

Why on earth would Maria do this? She outgrew Tyrone a long time ago and they have done this 'getting back together' before. Very tiresome and shows what an exhausted character Maria has become now, let her leave for good when Marcus goes and lets concentrate on the new characters that this bore's love life.

I agree with Frosty. This behaviour sounds very atypical for Maria's character. She is the type to soldier quietly on, not terrorize a former BF (and also BF of a very good friend,Fiz?).

Another bizarre visit from the Corrie Personality Transplant Fairy:)

That's the whole point of a breakdown. The behaviour is not going to be her norm. She's upset that Fiz suspected something about Todd and Marcus and is focusing her anger there.

Shame. I am also liking Maria with some backbone, getting her out of the "sweet" box she has been stuck in for years. The script writers went down a similar path with Nick's girlfriend who worked at salon. Seems like if a lass only wants family life and doesn't get it she ends up going unhinged. If a lad wants family life a d doesn't get it he cries on mates shoulders, may go on a bender and then either finds a nice lass or accepts his situation. Smelloid

I said about a week ago that it would turn out to be Maria. She has a grudge against Fiz for not telling her about Marcus and Todd. Samia G is quite a good actor given the right script but she's always depicted as being insipid. I'd like to see her come away from this, standing on her own feet and not ready to fall into another man's arms.

Easy to tell the writers are all men living in a warped fantasy land when it comes to women.
Take a look at the women on the show and see.....each is a stereotype of one sort or another....not being fleshed out as a real character.

Well, you see, the females on this street cannot possibly do without a man or mate in their lives save Emily who is a tad odd anyway, but IMO there has to be some strong woman who's life is not totally dependent on a man to be complete. So, it's only natural for Maria to have a breakdown and go all schitzoid because her relationship broke down. So, what does she do? Of course she comes on to another guy.

She is a lousy actor and please, Mr & Mrs. Writers, plot it out so Maria shoots Tina and begone with them both and then turn the weapon on yourselves.
I'm fast-forwarding more and more each day!

An Open Letter to Die Hard Fans:
You deserve better than this. You can break your Corrie habit. yes, it was once a great show but your loyalty is not being respected. they treat you like moron. I gave up on Corrie a year ago and discovered there is life beyond this soap. They don't care about you so why do you still defend them? They sneer at you, so why do you insult people who point out the obvious truth? All relationships come to an end, yes you will grieve but trust me it will not be as hard you imagine. Switch off now!

Didn't Maria take the crazy train after Liam was killed, only to end up in bed with his killer? Done. Boring. Next.

Let me get this straight,Tyrone didn't report his wife's abusive behaviour to the police but he'll sic them on Maria over some phone calls?!I wonder what will happen to little Liam? I'm also not looking foreward to seeing Fiz's lack of sympathy despite the fact she cheated on Kirk with John Stape.

Y'all need to look into the little flashy thing so the writers can repeat storylines over and over and you'll be none the wiser.
