Should Debbie Webster return to Coronation Street?

Hands up if you can remember Debbie Webster, Kev's gobby sister?  I've been thinking about her as Kev's been on the phone to her over the last couple of episodes while their dad Bill's been in hospital after suffering his heart attack.

This fan reckons it's high time Debbie Webster returned to Coronation Street to sort out her older brother and give Sally some cheek. She'd be a great comic foil for Sophie and Rosie too.

Actress Sue Devaney, who played Debbie, went to on to star in Dinner Ladies. Read her IMDB profile here.

Who else wants Debbie back on Corrie?

Not yet another gobby female PLEASE!

I think its a bit late for Debbie to return to be honest.

I'd love Debbie come back, as long she'd played by the same actress, of course. Dennis's return shows it is never too late for a good character to reappear.

Sounds like a great idea Nora

Seeing as she is older, I doubt she will be gobby. But you never know. But Phil Collinson has said he will not be bringing back any older characters, so I doubt it will happen.

I captioned the stage version of Dinnerladies for the Deaf last year; Sue was in it and I was struck then by the thought that she would be great back in the street. She's very adept at playing comedy and I thought what a great pairing she could have with Rosy; dappy model and madcap aunt who refuses to grow old gracefully. She should definitely come back for Bill's wedding and use that as a tester to see how she goes down with viewers.

I think it would be great for her to appear, even if its only for a little bit just to see her dad. I'm glad that it mentioned kevin ringing her as usually when a character leaves everyone seems to forget about them entirely.

Well, she's before my viewing time, but I'd love to see her on the show! Could be a good counterpoint to increasingly grouchy Kev, no matter how responsible he is with li'l Jack.
